You’re probably here because you either love drawing or you love dogs, and if that’s the case, then this might just be the perfect event for you. Welcome to Dog Life Drawing classes with artist Cai Burton at KitForm, Jamaica Street Studios. Join this art class with a difference and get to know your fluffy models with a tail who just love scratches, pets and treats. Each class will feature multiple dogs of all shapes and sizes - expect snorting flat faces, long legs, tight curls and waggy tails. Try to keep up with the dogs movements and capture a variety of sketches, or spend longer on timed exercises led by artist Cai Burton. Classes are fun and relaxed with the opportunity to move around and see different dogs. Get to know the owners and play with the pups during the break. Share your work afterwards and see how other artists of all skill levels capture these furry friends. Cai will guide you through the session, introducing you to the class with structured warm ups and moving you around the space. Despite this, classes are still relaxed with the opportunity to move around as you see fit. Drinks will be available from the bar and chilled music will help set the tone. On the dayPlease arrive 10-15 minutes early to get checked in and settled. Limited on-street parking is available. The nearest car parks are Cabot Circus or The Galleries (15min walk) Please bring your own art supplies. Limited equipment is available to borrow including A3 paper & boards, pens and pencils. The Little League Umpire Academy is a completely revamped and highly engaging umpire training event that provides a comprehensive, jam-packed, hands-on, and interactive study and application of the Little League Rules, Plate Mechanics, Base Mechanics, and the fundamentals of Working the 2-Umpire System. This training event is open to umpires ages 18 and older. Members of our National Instructor Staff will lead instruction throughout the academy, using thoughtful, engaging, and interactive instructional strategies to provide a high-quality, highly comprehensive training event that equips and encourages umpires of all ability and experience levels. The National Instructor Team meets regularly to discuss best teaching practices, to remain current on all modern trends in umpiring, and to review and understand the Little League Umpire Development Curriculum so that we can provide an unmatched learning experience at each of our training events, especially each of our Umpire Academies across the program. Training materials and lunch will be provided for all attending umpires, and umpires will be responsible for making their own lodging arrangements, along with breakfast and dinner arrangements. Additionally, umpires are required to bring all umpire equipment and gear and are requested to dress in uniform for all sessions unless communicated otherwise by the training staff. Umpires should also bring a glove with them for cage work, drills, and simulations throughout the event. As a Little League Umpire, all umpires are reminded to complete a background check on the Umpire Registry for $5.00 in addition to completing the Abuse Awareness Training via USA Baseball and SafeSport. Attendees may be required to provide a copy of the certificate indicating completion of this Abuse Awareness Training prior to participating in the training event. The Abuse Awareness training is free and can be completed here: https://www.littleleague.org/university/articles/abuse-awareness-training-course/. (Note: Certificates must be dated after October 1 of the previous year to be valid and will be necessary should live games or simulations be used during the event.) The Sight of Music is an exhibition celebrating the connection between visual art and music. Bringing together a group of talented artists from Bristol and beyond, the exhibition showcases the way that these visual artists are inspired by music in their life and creative practice. Each of their resonant and distinctive experiences of engaging with music and sound will be transformed into visual expression through a selection of masterful printmaking, graphic design, illustration, painting, ceramics and sculpture.
