Liverpool Mountain is Swiss-artist Ugo Rondinone’s first public artwork in the UK and the first of its kind in Europe. Inspired by naturally occurring Hoodoos (spires or pyramids of rock) and the art of meditative rock balancing, this 10-metre high sculpture stands within Mermaid Courtyard, outside Tate Liverpool on the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool. It consists of coloured rocks, stacked vertically which seem to defy gravity. This outdoor sculpture marks the 10th anniversary of Liverpool European Capital of Culture, the 20th anniversary of Liverpool Biennial and the 30th anniversary of Tate Liverpool. Commissioned by Liverpool Biennial and Tate Liverpool as part of the Liverpool 2018 events programme with support from Royal Albert Dock Liverpool.

Fundamentals of Radiology IT - Basics of PACS, RIS and Imaging Informatics | Liverpool City Centre - UKIO 2025 Weekend

Jun 1, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Liverpool
Cultural Experiences
Sunday 1st June 2025 (immediately prior to UKIO 2025). The very popular one day course covering the fundamental basics of Radiology I.T., including PACS, RIS and their interactions with wider clinical applications such as EPR, electronic requesting etc. The basics of HL7 and DICOM will be introduced at a level suitable for radiographers and those with minimal or no prior experience of PACS. Applications of the technology along with current hot topics will be discussed. Training is delivered by NHS PACS Managers, recognised as experts in the field. Venue: Liverpool City Centre (as always, due to the high demand and hundreds of attendees on this date, venues are allocated in groups) This subsidised non-profit course is tailored for those with an interest but minimal or no prior formal knowledge of PACS, including Radiographers, Students, PACS Administrators, I.T. Support or other interested parties. Topics will be presented from the UK perspective (both NHS and private). Further courses cover Intermediate (2 days) and Advanced levels (3 days) and are listed in the 'providers other courses' section. Early booking: £50. Course textbook, attendance certificate and online verification service: £25. Discounted copy of official 'Clark's PACS, RIS & Imaging Informatics' course textbook is now included in the Eventbrite pricing due to their bundling requirements. Places are being allocated first to those on the waiting list and those with booking codes from Trusts and Universities. If you would like a self-funded place as an individual, please email: 01072025@purpleconsult.com Due to high demand (and the low cost!), this session requires a minimum of 10 places per NHS or Supplier purchase order I'm afraid. FAQ's: Q: Will I see / be taught by Alexander Peck? A: Alex teaches one of the larger groups live on this day, but we also use a number of other equally knowledgeable trainers who follow the same syllabus created by him. Q: Where should I book accommodation? A: All venues will be close to Liverpool city centre. Q: Is parking available at the venue/s? A: Yes, all venues are close to public car parking (however, local costs may apply). Q: Why multiple venues? A: Due to the high popularity of the training and wide range of professions attending, groups are split into similar professions - NHS Radiography, Dentistry, Veterinarian, Suppliers etc.). With limited room choices in smaller training centres, venues are allocated dependent on group sizes, each with their own trainer. Groups are allocated around two weeks prior to the session - please await an email around this time to the address registered with Eventbrite (all correspondence is routed through the Eventbrite system). Q: Is it possible to live-stream abroad? A: Yes, we can route the live-stream internationally, either live or delayed for timezone requirements. Please note this is not Teams / Zoom screen sharing, it requires a full AV team in the remote room for talkback which we will arrange. Q: Is this session suitable for supplier / vendor staff to attend for personal CPD? A: Yes, supplier staff are welcome at the same price. We can also live-stream to a private 'all company' room if you have 5+ attendees from the same team / division / company. Contact us directly for this option as costs vary depending on venue and spaces available. Our trainers use talkback earpieces to interact with all groups in the same way as the 'live' audience. Q: Is lunch included? A: Some sessions include a restaurant lunch provided by our training supporters (for NHS staff). We don't know for sure until nearer the time (logistics around this are tricky!). Please see your venue information email for details nearer the time. Better Places Together Conference: Rethinking Engagement & Social Value | BOXPARK Liverpool

Jun 12, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Liverpool
Cultural Experiences
Overview How can we rethink engagement and social value from tender to legacy to create Better Places Together? What changes can we make to promote a shift from tokenism to trusted conversations? Are there opportunities to deliver more meaningful engagement that enables us to successfully listen to and advocate for less-heard voices? Can we improve social value initiatives to ensure they genuinely create long term change, not short-term solutions? In recent years, engagement and social value have become buzzwords in the sector, featuring as key requirements in tenders and a focus of discussion at built environment forums. Whilst the conversation is positive, the reality on the ground can often be fraught with challenges. Hosted at BOXPARK Liverpool, Better Places Together is a programme of collaboration and action from PLACED. Open to all, it will explore how rethinking the approach to engagement and social value can create better places for everyone. Better Places Together focuses on the crucial ‘how’ of engaging communities and less-heard groups, reflecting on ground-level experience and knowledge to rethink what constitutes best practice. The event aims to create a space for critical and open discussion, where the challenges and barriers to delivering successful engagement and social value can be discussed, and active solutions can be collectively devised. Better Places Together is organised and delivered by PLACED with the support of their valued collaborators and industry peers. To find out more about the event please visit: betterplacestogether.org.uk To find out more about PLACED: placed.org.uk #betterplacestogether What will the event entail? Better Places Together will comprise of three distinct parts: Commission. Deliver. Legacy. For each part, a small group of diverse storytellers will set the scene, drawing on their personal experiences to provide the foundation for discussions, provocations, and reflections. Our storytellers will be from a wide range of backgrounds and ages, and help to presenting different experiences with place. After each set of Storytellers, attendees will participate in facilitated group discussions and exchanges of ideas. Together we will explore what goes wrong – and right – at each stage, and how we could improve the process. Groups will be broad and representative, enabling participants to reflect on the experiences of others and the opportunities that exist to do things differently. A reflection session will enable participants to hear from each other and other groups, and key observations to be fed back. Finally, an interactive session will bring the event to a close, with a series of prompts to help participants create an Action Plan for taking their learning from the conference into their work, helping to take learning into action. There will be opportunities to network and make new connections throughout the day . After the event, PLACED will also provide a report of key learnings. Created by Armstrong Dance, with original new music from Golden Globe-nominated composer Brian Byrne (Heartbeat of Home), Celtic Throne—Psalter of Ireland is guaranteed to be an experience unlike any other! Celtic Throne reflects the wide-ranging talents and interests of its creators and dancers. First and foremost, it’s an Irish dance show, with plenty of the fancy footwork and formidable stomps made world-famous by iconic shows like Riverdance, Lord of the Dance and Heartbeat of Home. “We adore these shows; they are an inspiration,” says director Brad Macdonald. “We wouldn’t be doing this if these amazing productions hadn’t blazed the trail for us. But Celtic Throne II is totally unique—we are blazing our own trail!” Watching beautiful, happy children, some as young as 7 and 8, dancing and playing music will melt your heart. Sensational gymnastics and martial arts will have you on the edge of your seat and remind you of watching the Olympics. Our live musicians electrify even the most reserved audiences, transporting them to a cozy Irish pub. The dance and music are enhanced by stunning costumes, an elaborate set, sensational lighting and special effects, and dramatic video storytelling on a gigantic, state-of-the-art LED screen. “Imagine taking a classic Irish dance show and blending it with a West End musical and a Hollywood movie,” says Macdonald. “This is what we have done with Celtic Throne—Psalter of Ireland. You won’t find better value for your money—it’s three experiences in one!” Our dancers range in age from 5 to 25. The troupe is comprised mostly of students from the Carey Academy, some of whom have placed highly in Worlds, All Irelands, Great Britain and North American Nationals, and other top Irish dance competitions.
