The magical lights emitted by each building illuminate the sky over the Victoria Harbour, supplemented by music and narration, dreamy, gorgeous and impactful, allowing you to have a deeper understanding of the beauty of Hong Kong. The sound and light show starts at 8 o'clock every night and lasts about 13 minutes. During these 13 minutes, you can watch the performance for free on both sides of Victoria Harbour. The best viewing spots are from the Avenue of Stars to the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront outside the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the waterfront promenade of the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai or the sightseeing ferry from Victoria Harbour. If you encounter special festivals, you can also see fireworks on the roof of the building and on the sea. Since the end of 2007, A Symphony of Lights has been expanded into a large-scale New Year's countdown event every year. Starting at 23:40 on December 31, a regular light show will be held first. In the 20 seconds before and after the New Year, the 420-meter-high Hong Kong The second phase of the International Finance Center will start the fireworks show. As the countdown counts down, fireworks on both sides of the building are set off layer by layer, accompanied by flickering and shining laser searchlights. At zero o'clock just to welcome the new year, the seven-colored fireworks of the building and the splendid fireworks of the 16 skyscrapers next to the harbour are set off at the same time. After the countdown, there will be a two-minute fireworks show, which is very beautiful and shocking.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Fragrance of Time — In Search of Chinese Art of Scent | Hong Kong Museum of Art
Jun 28–Oct 16, 2024 (UTC+8)ENDED
Hong Kong
China's aromatic culture has a long history. The lingering fragrance has lasted for thousands of years, lingering in temples, study rooms and boudoirs. It is not only a medium for worshipping the heaven and the ancestors, but also embellishes the daily life of the ancients, and even carries the spiritual pursuit of self-cultivation and enlightenment of the literati.
Ancient ancestors burned firewood and wood to offer sacrifices to heaven and earth. This sacrificial method called "burning sacrifice" is generally regarded as the origin of China's aromatic culture. In addition to sacrificial incense, daily life incense has been popular since the pre-Qin period. People wear sachets, bathe in scented water, burn incense to fumigate clothes, and even build houses with scented wood to repel insects and filth, and nourish the body and mind.
Later, with the changes in the types of incense materials and the production of incense products, the way of fumigation has become more sophisticated, and various corresponding incense burners and incense utensils have come into being. For thousands of years, literati and scholars have been keen on incense, studying and tasting incense, drinking wine, composing poems, playing the zither and watching paintings in the faint fragrance, and even pursuing the realm of enlightenment through incense. "Incense" not only plays an important role in Chinese culture, but is also inseparable from the ancient people's aesthetics of life and artistic creation.
This exhibition is jointly organized by the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Shanghai Museum, and is exclusively sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. It is one of the projects of the "Chinese Culture Festival" and "Shanghai Culture Week", and jointly presents the fragrant Chinese aromatic culture. Through the display of 160 sets of treasures from the two museums' collections, dating back to the Neolithic period and the Qing Dynasty, the audience will embark on a journey of searching for fragrance that spans thousands of years, and feel the ancient people's taste of smelling fragrance to nourish their nature in every breath.
