The North East Cycle Hub Road Show is heading to Magpie in Banchory! Stella’s Voice will be at the site between 10am and 3pm delivering a Dr Bike, Refurbished Bike Sale and Bike Amnesty to promote bike reuse and make owning and using a bike more accessible! In need of a bike? There will be refurbished bikes available to buy at affordable prices.
Bike needing fixing? A qualified bike mechanic will do quick fixes to help get you back on the road!
Got an old bike you are no longer using?! Donate it via the Bike Amnesty so that it can be refurbished and given a second lease of life! Providing access to cycling to those who otherwise couldn't. If you have any thoughts or questions about the North East Cycle Hub project, CycleHub.Org will be on-site to hear your thoughts or answer any questions you have. You can reserve your Dr Bike slot ahead of time on this page, but don't worry if you miss it, we still have a few spaces available on the day on a first come first served basis.
A Dr Bike Includes ‘Quick Fixes’ and will include inspection of brakes, gears, tyres and an M check. We will fix as much as we can within the time permitted, anything that we can't do we will give you in the form of a list of advisories
What is NECH? North East Cycle Hub is a collaborative project designed to be a catalyst for bike re-use in the North East of Scotland.
Aiming to see thousands of unwanted bikes across the North East saved from scrap and instead given a new lease of life in support of local people and causes.
Creating a network of local partners, that transform old, donated bikes into refurbished models ready for resale for worthy causes. The project is funded by NESTRANS and facilitated by CycleHub.Org collaborating partners within the project currently include; Stella's Voice, The Bikery, Magpie, Camphill School and BeCycle.
This event is one of the NECH project's impact events. These impact events are designed to encourage bike reuse and repair across Aberdeenshire and City while promoting modal change by making bicycles more accessible and affordable. These events will also function to inform and consulate the general public around the North East Cycle Hub’s project direction and delivery.
