Lifeguard One Day Recertification class | COC

Join the Lifeguard One Day Recertification class in Calabasas for a condensed 1-day course. This course offers the opportunity to get re-certified as a Red Cross Lifeguard. The class will take place at COC, an excellent location with a heated pool, on March 30, 2024.
During the class, participants will review the essential skills and knowledge required to be a lifeguard. It is important to note that in order to enroll in this course, individuals must have a current Red Cross Lifeguard certification. Proof of certification must be presented to the instructor upon arrival.
To ensure success in this intensive day of training, it is recommended that participants prepare in advance. Watching class review videos, completing online exercises, and practicing in the pool will help individuals feel confident and ready for the course.
Please be aware that registration for this class does not guarantee a Lifeguard Certification. In addition to passing exams with a score of 80% or higher, participants must also pass the pre-requisite swim tests and demonstrate proficiency in CPR and water scenarios.
The swim tests include swimming 300 yards using breaststroke and freestyle without stopping, treading water for 2 minutes using only the legs, and completing a timed weight-retrieval drill. It is advised to practice these swim tests prior to the training and ensure readiness to pass.

However, no refunds will be given within 7 days of training. If participants do not show up or do not meet the requirements of the course, refunds will not be provided.
Participants are required to bring their current lifeguard certification (digital is acceptable), a competitive style swimsuit, snacks/lunch, plenty of water, sun protection, towels, and extra clothing and layers, especially during colder months.
