The 2024 ADAPT Level 2 Coach Certification (Assessments Only) will be held in Boston, MA from June 18 to June 19. This certification is designed for coaches who have already completed the Level 2 Coach Certification Course. To be eligible for the assessments, participants must have a valid ADAPT Level One Certificate, an up-to-date First Aid certificate, and have completed 40 Reflective Coaching Sessions. The assessment process consists of two days. On the first day, participants will undergo the Parkour Competence Assessment, which includes 15 exercise areas to demonstrate competence in the foundation movement skills of parkour. A passing score of 90% is required for this assessment. The second day includes a written assessment covering fundamental parkour, coaching, and best practice knowledge. Participants must achieve a score of 90% to pass. In addition, participants will be required to plan and deliver a 25-50 minute simulated coaching session, demonstrating effective coaching. A passing score of 90% is needed for this practical assessment. There is also an optional live coaching assessment, where participants may be asked to teach a live parkour session under observation by an assessor. This will be determined by the assessor at their discretion. The regular price for the assessments is $150, but there is an early-bird discounted price of $100 available until two months before the start of the event. This intensive learning experience explores the science of expertise and learning, as well as the principles, methods, philosophies, and core concepts of parkour coaching. The course incorporates a blend of theory, group work, discussion, and practical training and coaching sessions. Participants should expect a highly engaging and active experience throughout the entire course, including evening homework assignments. To make the most out of this immersive and informative program, it is recommended to clear your schedule for the week. The certification consists of two parts: the Training Course, which spans 5 days, and the Assessments, which take place over a 2-day phase. Following the completion of the Level 2 Course, candidates have a timeframe of 3 months to 2 years to prepare for and complete the Assessment phase. This allows ample time for the course content to be absorbed, put into practice, and for the feedback of the course tutor to be implemented. Assessments can be booked separately via the designated website. As part of the certification process, participants are required to undergo a post-course self-reflection experience. This involves completing 40 reflective coaching sessions within 24 months of the course and prior to the Assessments. Evidence of these sessions must be provided during the Assessment phase. The Level 2 Coach Certification course spans 5 days, with each day starting at 09:00 and concluding at 18:00.
