Come and be part of the audience for this exciting panel of experts who will explore storytelling and identity in today’s fashion industry. Have you ever wondered how art can connect with new fashion consumers? What does it take for fashion be as collectable as art? In this inspiring discussion, Alison Kubler, Lydia Pearson and Joash Teo will explore the intersection of fashion and art in today’s world, where craftsmanship is honoured and prestigious galleries throw open their doors as places of fashion worship. Faced with more informed and engaged consumers than ever before, fashion companies embed storytelling and identity into their work. We know that designers today are pushing boundaries and reviving craftsmanship – how do consumers and designers fit in the arts sector and wider cultural landscape? Join us at State Library of Queensland for a conversation examining global and local movements such as sustainability and the digital landscape, and their influence on the way we create, consume, and connect with fashion as an art form. This conversation is presented in partnership withFashion Queensland. Joash Teo is a leading Brisbane designer and couturier famed for red carpet glamour and impeccably constructed, signature silhouettes.
