Nature Connection & Wellness at Ewhurst Park | Ewhurst Park, RG26 5SL

Jul 20, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Tasburgh
Cultural Experiences
Whether you’re looking for healing, to find a new balance within yourself, or to just enjoy learning new techniques for maintaining your health and wellbeing, these workshops are tailored to you and for what you’d like to make of them. What’s included The workshops include spending structured and unstructured time in our ancient woodlands and wider landscape. The day will be split into specific sessions with breaks in between and a forest lunch. You will be invited to explore your connection and attitude to nature, how you currently feel within yourself, and how you can harness nature connection for your current needs. There’ll be the invitation to explore different energies found in nature and how to use them, and guests will discover exercises and practical techniques to promote healing and wellbeing of the mind, body and spirit. This workshop includes a simple lunch which will be cooked on an outdoor fire and feature produce from Ewhurst Park’s Quality Meats range and foraged ingredients. This is a time to share in community, food and social connections by gathering to eat together, and if you like, to make and cook some of your own food, for example, fired dough sticks or indulgent toasted marshmallows. You will also get advice on how to practice nature connection away from the session in your own time and in your own spaces. Nature connection can be practiced anywhere you have access to, from forests or parks, to gardens, window boxes, or even next to a house plant or looking out onto nature from a window. Everyone can find riches and discover more about themselves through the experience of connecting with nature. “ Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul alike .” John Muir About your guide Our resident nature connection practitioner and herbalist, Simon Keith, has helped many people through trauma, illness and difficult times with over 15 years' experience leading local nature therapy and connection sessions. His bushcraft and woodwork skills are second nature, and he’s at his happiest tramping through forests in search of exciting mushrooms and plants. What are the benefits of forest bathing and nature connection? There are already robust scientific studies showing that nature exposure improves blood pressure, heart rate, mental health, cognitive function, brain activity, physical activity, and sleep, as well as having a protective effect against mental ill health and poor cognitive function. It is also associated with a decreased risk of cardiovascular disease and improved immune function, and is currently being studied for its long-term effects on depression, anxiety, and chronic disease, among other factors. People who practice forest bathing and nature connection have reported improvements in (to name a few): - Energy levels - Positivity - Respect for themselves and nature - Self-care - Listening (to themselves and others) - Wellness - Anxiety - Depression - Anger - Fear - Stress - Concentration Sometimes practitioners get a wake up call to try a new way of looking at and living life or feel a sense of empowerment, others find it to help with PTSD. Workshops will be held in spring, summer and autumn and will be tailored to the group with different activities and elements incorporated into each session. Repeat sessions will give you the opportunity to delve deeper and will likely give increased benefits. Book onto all three for a discount. Information Source: Ewhurst Park | eventbrite

You will have 4 minutes to chat to each date, once the 4 minutes is over we will ring a bell to indicate the time is up and for the gentlemen to move to their next date. TALK What the Normans did to ….. and for Norwich. | The Forum

Jul 24, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Norwich
Cultural Experiences
Norwich has always welcomed Strangers to its city but some have been more welcome than others. The Normans disrupted Anglo-Scandinavian life, breaking the 200-year link with Denmark and reconnecting with France and Europe. Dominant new buildings were raised and the layout radically changed but the Normans brought order, recognition and prosperity. This is a repeat of our sell-out February Talk and is part of The Norwich History Festival 2025 . S ee HERE for more details. Adrian O'Dell is the son of a Polish Air Force officer and a nurse from Lancashire and was educated at the City of Norwich School. After an international career in the oil industry, he‘retired’ to Norfolk and has devoted himself to the study of Norfolk and Norwich’s history and heritage. He is a freelance city tour guide and was also a trustee of the Norfolk & Norwich Heritage Trust (Dragon Hall) before it was passed on to the National Centre for Writing. He has completed post-graduate studies in Landscape History at UEA. Adrian is Chair of the Norfolk Polish Heritage Group which researches and archives stories of Polish immigration into Norfolk since World War II and has dual British/Polish nationality. Not just a social investment workshop | Norwich Central Baptist Church

Jul 24, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Norwich
Cultural Experiences
Who should attend? For anyone interested in learning more about social investment, especially leaders and board members responsible for income generation and organisational sustainability. This is not just a social investment workshop This is the final of three income workshops in July. Social investment isn't just for large charities or social enterprises. Neither does it require shares or liquid assets. If these terms bamboozle you or you think that social investment is not for your organisation, you may be surprised. There are likely many reasons that East Anglia is a social investment 'cold spot'. From developing new services, recruiting staff or investing in equipment, there are many uses for social investment and sizes and forms in comes in. All options require a degree of due diligence and investment readiness. You'll leave this workshop with increased knowledge about social investment and whether it's right for your organisation to pursue further. Event Details: Date: 24th July 2025 Time: 9.30am - 1pm with tea and coffee Location: Duke Street Baptist Church, Norwich, NR3 3AP Outcomes from attending will include: Increased understanding of what social investment is Improved understanding of what social investment is used for Improved understanding of where to start and your considerations Improved understanding of necessary due diligence and getting investment ready A bit more about my values . Inclusive - it’s in the name of the facilitation I use because to include is to listen, to arrive at better results and to believe all the voices have both equal worth and are worth making adjustments to hear. Positive - this means exploring and naming the things people and organisations do well so that you can do more of them. Honesty too about changes that can be made - but never bashing or undermining a brilliant sector. Solution-focussed because that’s what’s needed in a frantically busy sector facing huge challenges and increasing need in communities deserving of answers. Equitable because I believe in treating you as we should be treating those you support - as an equal whose lived experience is of equal worth, needs to be heard and is a vital part of finding solutions. Pragmatic because having walked the walk I live in the real world, not in an ivory tower with ideas that won’t work for you. Enterprising means finding new ideas and solutions that work for you, your values and those of the organisation and its community. I will always be thoughtful about this and not attempt to crowbar solutions from elsewhere and assure they will work for you in your setting. We will open the door at the start time of the event and let you in 10 minutes before the end for you to see what they have been working on. Please note, once you are checked into this session and come into the gym, there is no front of house open during this time for guests/parents to wait. We ask that you bring water in a named bottle, all jewellery is removed or taped up, hair is out of the face in a style that will last the duration of the session, you wear comfortable, sporting clothes along with bare feet or cheer shoes. Brave apparel can be bought from our on site pro shop, but neither the apparel or cheer shoes are compulsory. Our 'Cheer Shoe Recommendation' document can be found on the homepage of our website. We recommend outdoor shoes that can be slipped on and off rather than lace up shoes to avoid congestion. Please ensure ALL items brought to Brave are clearly named, any lost property that is not named is disposed of at the end of each night. Due to the positive and relaxed culture at Brave, we implement a closed session policy. We find this helps participants to feel at ease and confident to step outside their comfort zone to progress. If you require any feedback on your child's progress or have any questions please speak to the person on the front desk. Please use the parking bays provided to the side and back of the premises, depending on the time of day there may also be roadside parking. Please avoid parking in the neighbouring businesses spaces whilst they are open. Information Source: Brave Allstars | eventbrite

Celebrating Norfolk Day with a handpicked selection of Norfolk's funniest! Featuring; LEON MALLETT Leon Mallett is Norfolk’s own viral sensation, with his fame sky rocketing in the summer of 2024 with his parody of American Boy restyled as East Anglia Boy where he coined his on stage humorous Norfolkism rich on stage and online persona. Leon in a past life was on series 14 of X-Factor, reaching week 2 of the live shows under the mentorship of Louis Walsh, since then Leon has embraced his roots and now has over 1 million views on social media. October 2024 saw Leon take to the stage with a sell out tour celebrating his success and launching the single Alright Me Darlin’. ISAAC HP Isaac is a stand-up comedian and social media star who is best recognized for his TikTok videos and his comedic replies to user comments. He has gained a collective social media following of 5 million across all platforms. His videos have received over 190 million likes on TikTok. He also runs a popular, self-titled YouTube channel, where he posts skits as well as clips of him telling jokes. His surreal outlook has caught the eye of many promoters and is hotly anticipated to be the next up and coming comedic star. MARTIN WESTGATE (MC) Martin is fast becoming a staple of the East Anglian comedy scene and beyond. An accomplished MC and performer Martin is making waves in the comedy scene gigging for some of the most recognised promoters in the country. Martin approaches gigs the way he approaches most things in his life, wittily, with jokes and quickly. He brilliantly rinsed David Walliams on Britain’s Got Talent, and is more than capable of stepping away from the jokes and dealing with the audience when needed. Proud Norfolk boy flying the flag for Nelson’s County, even in strong winds (well he’s got the grip strength).
