Enjoy an evening of designing, Linoprinting, and printing and relaxing with artist & designer Marcus Gilmore at the ARC Community Space, Western House, Western St, Nottingham NG1 3AZ. This workshop class is designed to introduce you to the medium of linoprinting in a more relaxed setting. We will be working off long-tables that will provide plenty of space for this workshop, and any questions and queries you are welcome to ask! To start we will begin with sketching your chosen designs, and using carbon paper to transfer your designs onto the lino plates prior to carving. You will have the opportunity to print with a variety of water based inks + paints, and hand-made types of paper to create unique and striking prints. All equipment including lino plates, carving tools and ink will be provided. Participants of all abilities are welcome and no previous experience is required. Refreshments and drinks will be availiable to attendees and you'll also receive 10% off all food and drink at the cafe on floor one. You are welcome to arrive a bit earlier as I'll be arriving earlier to set up the space prior to 16:00. Price is £40.00 per ticket. We look forward to having you and excited to see what you design! We will be working off long-tables that will provide plenty of space for this workshop, and any questions you are welcome to ask! A leisurely family friendly cycle ride using trailer accessible paths and quiet roads. We'll start and finish from Nottingham Central Library (meet in front of the main entrance, see Google pin here). We'll be heading to Highfields Park on University Boulevard where we can have a cuppa by the lake. We'll be out for 1-2 hours and we'll go at your pace, with plenty of time for snack stops. This ride is suitable for all abilities and we welcome those who'd like to gain cycling confidence. We particularly want to support mums and non-binary parents to cycle with their children, but we recognise that sometimes having someone else there to support you can be really helpful, so this event is open to all genders. Whether this is your first time riding in a while, or with children, or you just want to get out and meet others, we welcome everyone. The ride will be led by Emily and Abi, experienced ride leaders and first aiders, who take a patient and inclusive approach to cycling. This event is part of Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival project. We will be collecting names and email addresses of participants to share with Cycling UK who will survey participants after the event. Survey responses help show the benefit of free support for cycling, helping to provide evidence to funders which in turn helps fund more free events.
