Breighton Airfields main event of the year! 'G-George Day’ A 1940s themed celebration of our armed forces! G for George was a Avro Lancaster Bomber which was operated out of the former RAF Breighton by the RAAF during WW2. It is now preserved at the Australian War Memorial (AWM), Canberra , Australia . G-George has the added distinction of bringing home, alive, every crewman who flew aboard it. G-George serves as a memorial to all Australians who flew with Bomber Command, and to the 1,018 dead of 460 Squadron. Our event is to remember the sacrifice made by all members of the armed forces. Exhibitions
Connections to Home is the first solo exhibition of carvings and paintings by revered Barkindji and Ngiyampaa Elder, Uncle Colin (Col) Clark. This exhibition showcases fifty of Uncle Col’s crafted artworks, including spears, shields, clubs, tapping sticks, digging sticks, boomerangs, didgeridoos, painted emu eggs, bowls, and paintings created over the past 20 years. Connections to Home demonstrates Uncle Col’s deep knowledge of wood and carving as a cultural practice that connects him to Country and home, but also to his Ancestors and the ongoing legacy expressed through his Marra or hands in Barkindji as he has been nicknamed. The exhibition explores six overarching themes, developed by Uncle Col and his collaborators: Reading Country; The River is the lifesource; A growing family; Connecting to Ancestors; The wood tells me; and Healing and medicine.Coming Home is a compelling solo exhibition by Dr. Jenny Murray-Jones of up to 25 of her paintings from KHTs unique and importance Collections of Victorian First Peoples Art and Cultural belongings and recent works by Dr. Murray-Jones. Murray-Jones is a Yorta Yorta and Baraparapa artist. Her work offers a poignant exploration of family reconnection, delving into themes of Country, Kinship, and the enduring impact of colonisation and institutional life. Through her rich and emotive use of colour and texture, Murray-Jones captures both the beauty and complexity of her family’s journey. Her works tell stories of resilience, loss, and the healing power of reconnecting with family and Country. Each piece invites viewers into the artist’s personal history, where moments of joy and pain are intertwined, reflecting the strength of her cultural identity and the deep connections that bind her to her Ancestors and Country. This exhibition, which coincides with National Reconciliation Week 2025 (27 May-3 June) offers a unique opportunity to engage with Murray-Jones powerful depictions of the Stolen Generations and intimate family moments, bringing to life her personal narrative and cultural research in a deeply moving and thought-provoking way.

Arts Theater
What happens when yesterday’s revolutions are placed in the hands of tomorrow’s performers? The Shock of the New in Adelaide is a curated anthology performance of scenes from pivotal productions in the history of South Australian theatre—works that shifted the cultural landscape, sparked conversation, or simply refused to play by the rules. Performed by the graduating actors of the Bachelor of Performance (Honours), this dynamic collection traces the pulse of innovation through Adelaide’s theatrical past. From iconic breakthroughs to little-known provocations, the result is a vivid, shape-shifting evening of live performance—an archival excavation turned living, breathing theatre. A collaborative performance guided by the Australian Creative Histories and Futures Artist in Residence, director Chris Drummond, and supported by the State Theatre Company of South Australia, The Shock of the New in Adelaide unfolds against a backdrop of striking digital imagery and bold performer-led interpretation. Some plays began here. Others landed here and left a mark. All of them helped reimagine what our theatre could be. Directed by Chris Drummond Performed by the graduating actors of the Bachelor of Performance (Honours) Performances: August 6, 7, 8, 9 at 7:30pm, August 8 at 11:00am Tickets: Adult: $25, Concession: $18, Student:$12 Matthew Flinders Theatre, Humanities Road Bedford Park (nearest parking Carpark 5). A new exhibition by Geelong’s acclaimed contemporary performance company Back to Back Theatre brings fresh perspective to the story of Henry V.England’s Henry V arrives at a factory: he sees thousands of French warriors ready to take up arms against his depleted and tired troops. With not much more than stirring words, he leads his people through a battle that represents the tragedy and extremities of war. But beyond the cardboard armour and din of battle – who are these soldiers? If we see them as individuals, what more can we understand about them? Globally renowned Back to Back Theatre brings its unique vision to Shakespeare’s timeless story of Henry V in Agincourt (named after the play’s pivotal battle), the latest in the company’s expansive body of screen-based works. Directed by Bruce Gladwin, with cinematography from Rhian Hinkley, Agincourt builds on iconic adaptations from cinema history, including Laurence Olivier’s Technicolor take in 1944, Kenneth Branagh’s grittier 1989 effort and Timothée Chalamet’s turn in The King (2019). It’s led by the company’s ensemble of actors who are perceived to have intellectual disabilities: Sarah Mainwaring, Simon Laherty, Scott Price, Grace Kenny, Nathan Legg and Jessica Walker, with contributions from over 100 community members, bringing a new perspective to a story we thought we knew.
