Ready To Go Orienteering (RTGO) course trains and equips primary and post-primary school teachers, youth leaders, scout leaders, camp providers etc with the skills and ability to teach the fundamentals of the sport to beginners and young people, whilst providing them with the necessary resources to do this. RTGO teaches you how to: Introduce pupils and young people to the basic skills of orienteering in a fun and exciting way.Identify where orienteering can be introduced to your school curriculum or group activities.Use games and activities that progress pupils and young people from classroom lessons to participating in simple orienteering competitions and events.Prepare your pupils or group to participate in schools orienteering events in public parks and other orienteering fixtures in your area.Participants are provided with a resource pack including games cards, sample maps and controls, with further equipment available to purchase. Educational resources are also provided online, which can be downloaded and printed. DEIS schools participating in the 'Ready to Go Orienteering' training can receive a customised orienteering map of their school grounds at a nominal cost. The SPIN1038 Student Race Day returns on Wednesday, 9th April 2022 and is set to attract over 10,000 students for a day of thrilling racing, fashion, and entertainment at Leopardstown Racecourse. As well as eight great races, students can enjoy a multitude of entertainment, a best dressed competition and live music from one of Ireland top music performers. The event is a sell out every year and will be hotly anticipated as Leopardstown Racecourse welcomes student back after two year’s off-campus. Technical level is aimed at dancers of Intermediate or above standard in ballet, contemporary or other dance techniques.Work created will be performed in Mermaid Arts Centre, Main Street, Bray, Co. Wicklow on Sunday April 20th (note: Easter Su nday) therefore participants should make themselves available for a full -day and evening at the theatre on Sunday. Other side-events will take place during the Intensive, including an opening event at Inchicore College on Saturday April 12th (early evening) and Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely, Co.
