Littleton
Have you thought about trying dinghy sailing or getting back into it? Do you love the water? If you are wondering what dinghy sailing is like or you are interested in our club, then this is your chance. Come and enjoy our scenic, protected lake. Get out on the water for a taste of sailing in a dinghy. Littleton Sailing Club welcomes adults and families to book a taster sail. You will set sail in one of our multi-person training boats, with an experienced club sailor at the helm. Your experienced helm will show you the ropes and even let you take the helm if the weather is suitable. Parents and their children will be paired together in a boat for a family taster sail to help you start a new family activity. For family taster sails, a parent/guardian is required to sail with each child to help you start a new family activity. One ticket is required per person including children. The club’s Wednesday evening taster series has three events: 21 May, 4 June, and 25 June with two taster sail slots per evening, the first starting at 18:00 and the second at 19:00. In order to make room for everyone who is interested in trying sailing and experiencing Littleton, taster slots are limited to one taster sail per person per season. If you decide you'd like to learn to sail, then talk to us about membership options and the RYA courses that we run at the club. You are welcome to enjoy a tasty bite from the galley (did someone say burgers? chicken caesar salad and cake?), beers and prosecco from the bar, and soak up the friendly club atmosphere. You are also welcome to bring your own board and stand up paddleboard/windsurf on our scenic lake and enjoy the wildlife. Please arrive promptly for your scheduled slot and bring your ticket confirmation with you – either on your mobile device or printed. Late arrivals cannot be guaranteed to go afloat.

Book Launch: Willy Meisl, "King of the Sports Journalists" | Woolf Institute
Jun 4, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Westminster
Willy Meisl was a trailblazing Austrian-Jewish sports journalist who revolutionised the field during the Weimar Republic. A product of Viennese coffee houses, Meisl intellectualised sports writing in the interwar years, covering themes such as professionalism, tactics and sporting antiquity for wide audiences, in a style more commonly found in newspaper culture sections. Contemporaries called him the “King of the Sports Journalists”. But his work was affected profoundly by the Nazi’s rise to power, and he began to write about the roots of Nazism, the terror it unleashed, and about Jewish people and identity, exposing fallacies of the racial theories that forced him into exile. This volume gathers his most powerful writings on these themes, presented in their original German with English introductions. A forgotten pioneer of interwar journalism, Meisl’s work remains as urgent and insightful today as it was in his time. Co-Editors Professor Chris Young and Darren O’Byrne welcome you to join them in conversation with Michael Berkowitz, Professor of Modern Jewish History at UCL and Justin Cohen, News Editor of The Jewish News.

Important details:
The event will take place at Prost's Northglenn taproom.
This is an untimed, fun run. All levels of walkers, runners, and joggers are welcome.
This is an open course, meaning roads will NOT be closed. You are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and regulations.
We create each route to start and end at the brewery and to show off the surrounding neighborhood. The course will be marked with arrows and volunteers to help you know where to go.
You must bring a valid ID or driver's license. You do not need to be 21 to enjoy the event, but you must be 21 to enjoy the beer. Please drink responsibly. Registered, underage participants will receive a token for a FREE non-alcoholic beverage.
Our events are rain or shine! If conditions become unsafe to run, we will still hang out and drink beer.
There will not be a bag check; please plan accordingly and dress appropriately for the weather.
Dogs and strollers are welcome on the course, with care and caution. Please remember you are running at your own risk on city sidewalks/streets/trails, which might not be suitable for your 4-legged and /or pint-size running buddies. You will also want to check with the brewery to make sure you can abide by their dog / underage policies. Please make the best decision possible for your crew.
Colorado Brewery Running Series merchandise, including shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, heat press brewery logos, drinkware, and seasonal items will be available at the event.
There is public parking available. Is public transit an option for you? Check and see if there’s an accessible route nearby.
Please drink responsibly. We always encourage carpooling and safe, designated drivers.
Keep an eye out - we will send you all final event details via email the week of this event and share anything else you might need to know.
