From ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and medieval illuminated manuscripts to contemporary graffiti art and graphic novels, the relationship between art and text remains both dynamic and relevant. Particularly pertinent in this time when traditional books and reading are at the mercy of digital media and book bans, Westbury Arts is celebrating the art of the written word by hosting an exhibition that presents a variety of ways of combining art and text, to what effect, and with diverse results. We invited artists to submit original works of art that incorporate text in various forms, as well as written works that heavily rely on imagery. The Reception: Come join us for an afternoon filled with creativity and inspiration as you immerse yourself in a world where imagination knows no bounds and let the art speak to your soul.
