Ensemble Theatre Workshop | Parkdale United Church
Apr 30, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Parkdale
This spring, our company of artists are developing another original work of theatre called Frankenstein A.I. The play explores what it means to be human and the value of the human experience, the relationship between the created and the creator, and the ethics of developing artificial general intelligence. The play is a contemporary retelling of Mary Shelley's novel originally published in 1818 in which Doctor Frankenstein's creature is instead an Artificial General Intelligence humanoid.
We invite anyone curious about our creative process to join us for one or more workshops. Specific dates in the development process are open for drop-ins, offering a chance for newcomers and seasoned theatre artists to learn what we do or sharpen their skills by engaging in a physical ensemble theatre workshop with us. Led by our experienced team of directors and facilitators, participants in these workshops will work alongside 9th Hour artists and get a taste of the development process first-hand and experience what it's like to be part of a 9th Hour production.
