A this fun Singles Game Night is a revolutionary new event that is changing the way singles meet. Let's face it, we're all tired of the endless online swiping on dating apps and this event is the perfect way to meet other singles in real life! ** Scroll all the way down to watch a video about this event ** HOW THE EVENT WORKS... - At each Party Of 7 Singles Game Night we choose a cool bar with a great vibe - We book a table for 7 to 12 people - After you get your ticket we give you the table reservation name... You just tell the venue host the reservation name and you'll be directed to your table where you'll get to meet 7 to 10 fun single strangers who are also looking to meet new people - Our host will walk you through the event via video on your phone (so there's no awkward check in process or silly name tags) - The coolest part about the event is that no one else at the venue will even know you're at a singles event. It will just look like a group of friends having fun around a table! - We start with fun icebreakers and you can order cocktails (or non-acoholic mockails) to get everyone talking and then move into the games (feel free to order food/appetizers if you'd like to as well. everyone pays for their own tab at the venue) - After the event you can login to our app (it's a web based app so no download necessary) and contact the people you'd like to stay in touch with trough our app. You can select to contact people as friends or as a potentially dating interest. Because we let you contact people as friends it's the perfect event to meet fun wingmen, wing women and activity partners! ** QUICK NOTE: BECAUSE WE LIMIT THE SPOTS TO A MAXIMUM OF 5 MALE TICKETS AND 5 FEMALE TICKETS, THE EVENT WILL VERY LIKELY SELL OUT WAY BEFORE THE EVENT TIME GRAB YOUR TICKET ASAP TO MAKE SURE YOU GET A SPOT. ** WHAT ARE THE GAMES ALL ABOUT? You'll be playing fun games like "Friendly Feud" which is similar to the popular prime time TV show we all know. In this game you and the other singles at the table will be asked fun questions like, "Name a gift that women love men to give them". You will try to come up with the most popular answer and then you'll find out if you got the top answer. Another popular game we sometimes play is Blank Slate where you have to try to guess the most popular fill in the blank answer to questions like, _________ TIME . You'd have to try to come up with the most popular answer... is it PARTY TIME? Is it NIGHT TIME? Or maybe it's SHOWTIME. HERE'S THE REALLY COOL PART! This event has led to countless relationships and new friendships formed because after the event you'll be able to stay in touch with the people you met at the event by reaching out and contacting them on our app - After the event you can login to our app and contact the people you'd like to stay in touch with trough our app - After the event you can login to our app (it's a web based app so no download necessary) and contact the people you'd like to stay in touch with trough our app. You can select to contact people as friends or as a potentially dating interest.. You can select to contact people as friends or as a potentially dating interest.. After the event is over we allow you to login to the app and swipe on the people you'd like to stay in touch with. It's similar to a dating app but you'll have actually met and mingled with the people in person before deciding if you want to match and stay in touch with them! After you get your ticket you'll be able to upload a photo of yourself on our webpage (only viewable by the other event attendees). After you sign up you will get an email from us with instructions on how to upload your photo to our app/webpage. It's the perfect way to meet someone, merging new technology and good old fashioned meeting in real life! You can select to contact people as friends or as a potentially dating interest. Because we let you contact people as friends it's the perfect event to meet fun wingmen, wing women and activity partners! *** IMPORTANT! IF YOU DON'T SEE AN EMAIL FROM US AFTER YOU SIGN UP MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER. THAT EMAIL CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND DETAILS ABOUT THE EVENT AND GETTING ONTO THE APP *** A message we received about one of our recent events: "I had a great time at the event. The people were really friendly and the games were a lot of fun. It was a refreshing change of pace from the dating apps" - Leah ** QUICK NOTE: Because the venue is giving us their valuable table space we ask that you order either a 1 drink minimum or a food item off the menu (can be an appetizer). ...................................... FAQ: CAN I PAY AT THE VENUE DOOR? We do not accept payment at the venue. You must pre-pay and get your ticket online. DOES MY TICKET INCLUDE DRINKS?Your ticket doesn't cover drinks. There is a great selection of drinks (and/or food you can order at the venue). Your ticket covers the cost of us organizing and marketing the event. HOW MANY WILL BE ATTENDING? We usually have between 7 and 12 people in attendance. We always try to make sure we have a minimum of 7 (hence our name) people. IS THE EVENT GENDER BALANCED?. We do our best to keep the ratios close to even but sometimes there may be one or two more women and sometimes there may be one or two more men. CAN I ARRIVE LATE? Try to arrive on time or even a few minutes early. CAN I COME ALONE? Yes, about 85% come on their own. ARE THERE DRINKS? Yes, there's a full menu of great drinks you can order at the bar. IS THERE FOOD AVAILABLE? Yes you can order food. The venue has a food menu and great appetizers available to order. IF I ATTENDED A PAST PARTY OF 7 SINGLES GAME NIGHT CAN I ATTEND ANOTHER ONE? Absolutely! We change up the games at each event so come to as many events as you'd like. WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE? While we don't have a dress code we ask that you please look neat/presentable. What you wear to work or what you'd where for after work happy hour drinks is fine. IS THERE A REFUND POLICY? If you need to cancel, please email us and we can transfer you to a future event. However we do not offer transfers if you cancel on the day of the event or don't show up. Information Source: Fun Events | eventbrite

Western Front and The Capilano Review are pleased to present an evening with writer-in-residence Erín Moure. The event will begin with a conversation with scholar Alessandra Capperdoni, and will be followed by a reading by Erín Moure from her latest book of poems Theophylline: A(n) (a)po(r)etic migration (Anansi, 2023), a work of poetry motivated by asthma, seeking poetry’s futurity in a queer and female heritage. In it, Moure crosses a border as translator, to engage the poetry of three American modernists—Muriel Rukeyser, Elizabeth Bishop, and Angelina Weld Grimké. Moure asks: What is breath for? What is archive? Why write a poem, instead of...something else? Admission is free, with registration recommended. Registration includes the option for a one-year subscription to The Capilano Review at a discounted rate. The event will be livestreamed here . About the Artists Erín Moure is a poet, essayist, and translator of poetry based in Montréal, Canada who works across Galician, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and English. A recipient of two Governor General’s Literary Awards—poetry and translation—as well as the Pat Lowther Memorial Award and the A.M. Klein Prize, she holds two honorary doctorates and has been International Translator in Residence at Queen’s College (Oxford) and Woodberry Creative Fellow (Harvard). Alessandra Capperdoni teaches in the Department of Global Humanities at Simon Fraser University. Her interests lie at the intersection of poetics, avant-garde writing, psychoanalysis, and writing informed by the practice of translation, especially in the areas of feminism and transculturalism. Her current work focuses on post-1960s Canadian poetics in the context of the social imaginaries shaped by the convergence of nationalism and globalization, as well as women’s avant-garde writing and feminist phenomenology in Canada. Accessibility The Grand Luxe Hall is located on the second floor of Western Front, which is accessed by a flight of 26 stairs. ASL interpretation is available upon request. Embracing Who and What as One A Community Circle with Dr. Duncan Grady Friday, October 3rd | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM In-Person Event | Vancouver, BC Join us for a meaningful morning of learning, reflection, and community connection with Dr. Duncan Grady, Elder and educator, as we explore the deeper question: What is the medicine? Through the lens of the Indigenous Medicine Wheel, Duncan will guide us in considering that medicine may not only be what's in the cup—but also what already lives within us. Schedule 9:00–10:30 AM – Talk by Dr. Duncan Grady: What Is The Medicine? Embracing Who and What as One 10:30–11:30 AM – Open Q&A and community discussion 11:30 AM–1:00 PM – Casual social space & light snacks About the Talk Our mind often tells us that the “medicine” is the substance in the cup. But from a mystical and Indigenous perspective, the medicine may in fact be something that already exists—alive and present—within the person receiving it. In this talk, Dr. Grady will invite us to explore how sacred plants interact with the inherent medicine in our own minds, spirits, emotions, and bodies, as understood through the four elements of the Medicine Wheel. Dr. Grady’s visit is an invitation to slow down, gather meaningfully, and center Indigenous wisdom in both personal and professional realms. Tickets General admission: $99 + tx Accessible Pricing : Available for members of Indigenous communities and students — please contact us directly at support@therapsil.ca . No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. About Dr. Duncan Grady Dr. Duncan Grady brings over three decades of experience in psychotherapy, focusing on trauma, addictions, and end-of-life care. He holds a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and a Doctorate of Divinity in Creation Spirituality. An Elder with the Circle of Indigenous Nations Society (West Kootenays, BC), Dr. Grady integrates western and non-western teachings in his work, offering retreats, training, and consultation to communities navigating healing, spirituality, and transformation.
