The Wide Angle Photo Club's POP Show and the Foo Foo Festival is offering this photo based lecture series during the annual Power of Photography Show and would be of interest to anyone who is interested in photography and history. Dr. Brian Rucker Dr. Brian R. Rucker is a seventh generation native of Santa Rosa County and has his Ph.D. in history from Florida State University. He is a full professor of history at Pensacola State College, and a Faculty Associate at the University of West Florida. His specialty is history of the Pensacola area, the Florida panhandle, and the Gulf Coast. He has authored or edited over eighty scholarly books and articles related mostly to the Gulf Coast area, and he has twice been president of the Gulf South Historical Association. The Wide Angle Photo Club's POP Show and the Foo Foo Festival is offering this photo based lecture series during the annual Power of Photography Show and would be of interest to anyone who is interested in photography and history. Craig Wood, Esq. Craig is a dual licensed attorney in the Pensacola area specializing in personal injury and first party property. Specific practice areas include motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, premises liability, and first party property type hurricane insurance claims. Upon passing the Florida and Alabama bar exams, Craig has become involved in local legal organizations such as the Escambia Santa Rosa Bar Association, Pensacola chapter of Inns of Court, and the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar. Craig enjoys the local lifestyle of the Florida panhandle and is an enthusiast of motorsports and precision sports in his off time. Craig also enjoys professional photography, and can often be seen on the white sands of Pensacola Beach, photographing the world famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team. He has done several commissions for current and previous Blue Angels pilots. Craig has also photographed various aircraft flown by the U.S. Airforce. Recently, Craig photographed the highly classified U-28a Draco and had the shot commissioned by the pilots of Airforce Special Operations Command. Henry Bell (1911-1949) Dr. Norm Haines Dr. Norm Haines is a retired gastroenterologist with a lifelong passion for photography. Primarily self-taught, he has participated in many photography workshops throughout this country and abroad over the years. He honed his skills early on with a Bronica 4x4 shooting black and white film which he developed in his own darkroom. In 2008 he purchased his first digital camera. Norm was awarded ‘Best of Show’ in the Pensacola Power of Photography Show in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and the ‘People’s Choice Award’ in 2017 and 2019. He was honored with ’Best of Show’ in Artel Gallery’s ‘Black & White’ exhibit in 2017 and was one of ten photographers chosen to exhibit in the “Wild Florida” photography exhibit at the Center for Creative Education in West Palm Beach, Florida that year as well. In 2018 his abstract photography images entitled, “The Creation Series,” were featured at Artel Gallery. Prior to the COVID pandemic Norm taught photography courses for both beginning and advanced photographers, publishing fourteen monographs on various photographic topics which were used as the syllabus for his classes. Over the past eight years he has dedicated his time to his second love – history. As historian for the Pensacola Heritage Foundation, he lectures bimonthly on various aspects of Pensacola’s rich past. He has published ten books on Pensacola history during that time. The Wide Angle Photo Club's POP Show and the Foo Foo Festival is offering this photo based lecture series during the annual Power of Photography Show and would be of interest to anyone who is interested in photography and history. Wesley Odom Wesley Odom is known to many in this community. He is a native and largely a product of the public school system here, having graduated from Washington High School. He attended Vanderbilt University on a full scholarship, graduating with a B.A. in Communications and History and recognized on the Dean’s List. He is a former Naval officer and for over 30 years has worked as a financial advisor, most recently as principal of Armada Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisory firm working with Fidelity Investments. He also owns Go Retro, which is the longest operating historic tour company in Pensacola. His personnel offer many tours about Pensacola’s past. In his spare time, Wesley wrote two books, The Longest Siege of the American Revolution: Pensacola, which is in its third printing in the U.S. and recently was translated into Spanish and is sold internationally. He wrote another book about Florida’s oldest Methodist congregation, which he jokes only has earned him brownie points to get into heaven. He has been working a third book about the citizens of Pensacola who fought during the Civil War. He has served on various non-profit boards and currently serves as the Treasurer and Record keeper of St. Johns Cemetery, the largest historic cemetery in town. The Wide Angle Photo Club's POP Show and the Foo Foo Festival is offering this photo based lecture series during the annual Power of Photography Show and would be of interest to anyone who is interested in photography and history. “Light Painting Photography” Harry will teach a class on light painting photography. This will include a hands on demonstration and practice, so you are encouraged to bring your camera. Harry Purcell Harry has been avid photographers going back to Korea in 1965. Since retirement in 1987 he started a life of travel with his wife to over 88 countries around the world; such as China, Peru, Latin America, Turkey, the Mid East (Dubai, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, and Israel) the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe, and South America. Working with other professional photographers has also significantly broadened his horizons. His Smug Mug site is his latest attempt to show off some of the best photos. The Sunrise & HDR group are achieved with lots planning and the power of Photomatix and Photoshop to bring out the real colors. The Professional group has some of his favorite best shots, many have been entered in juried competition. The Photo Art photos are creations with Harry's full artistic creativity. The people folder captures some of his favorite close ups from his trips.

The Wide Angle Photo Club's POP Show and the Foo Foo Festival is offering this photo based lecture series during the annual Power of Photography Show and would be of interest to anyone who is interested in photography and history. Lori McDuffie The focus of my professional career has been preservation of cultural history and educating the community in the importance of doing so. I began working with historic collections in 2001, first as a Museum Technician up to Curator of Collections and Exhibitions by 2016. In 2013, I completed the Master’s Program in Museum Studies at Johns Hopkins University with an emphasis on Collections Management. My professional background includes managing and training staff, interns, and volunteers in object handling and care and various methods of practical preservation of artifacts of various mediums. I have developed Collection Disaster Recovery Plans and designed and implemented disaster recovery kits. Within the Collections Department at HMOM, I performed a full inventory of the permanent and loaned collections; worked to consolidate five off-site warehouses; lead the hands-on training of new staff, volunteers, and interns in dealing with new and old accessions and the care and maintenance of items; and worked with numerous donors, lenders, and borrowers to and from the institution concerning the tracking and care of multiple collections. I was also hands-on within the Education Department at the History Museum of Mobile, aiding in the development of educational programs for exhibition and events, as well as back-of-house operations. I developed adult programs focused on preservation and care for the protection and longevity of family heirlooms, plus developed and implement a back-of-house tour and program for small school and adult groups. I have developed exhibitions in both the temporary and permanent galleries. My work within the exhibits department includes design, artifact selection, stabilization, installation, and de-installation of both in-house and traveling exhibits. I prepared artifacts for travel, transported objects, and installed temporary exhibitions at other institutions including public libraries, historic houses, and other museums. LinkedIn: Lori McDuffie

Christy Draper Christy Draper is a chemist, biologist, photographer, poet and mindful meditation facilitator. She currently works for the USEPA and has been instrumental in producing the Wide Angle Photo Club’s (WAPC) Power of Photography (POP) Show for the past 6 years. This year she created a “Photo Caching” calendar and a WAPC Photo Caching Sites Pensacola Through the Camera album on the Wide Angle Photo Club’s Facebook page, matching historical photos of famous Pensacola landmarks to their current location. Photographers and history buffs can go to that location to see what it looks like now and post their photos in the album. The project culminated in an exhibit and a book titled Colorado Springs Then and Now. Mike will discuss the project and share the stories behind some of his favorite photos. Mike Pach Mike Pach is the owner of 3 Peaks Photography & Design. He is an award-winning, photographer who has been exploring and capturing the beautiful world around us as well as a speaker and author with more than 35 years of experience in photography.
