WHO THIS CLINIC IS FOR You’ve been mountain biking long enough to be comfortable on singletrack trails. You know how to shift and brake and are comfortable at a trail area like Betasso. You’ve either never taken a skills clinic or want a refresher. While this is not a sequel to the Beginner clinic, it would be appropriate to take this class if you’ve taken Beginner and want to re-enforce and refine the same skills. DESCRIPTION This clinic covers the same fundamental mountain bike skills as MTB Foundations: Beginner but is tailored for intermediate riders. We’ll move through skills at a faster pace and practice on bigger obstacles and features. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN Ride with balance and body-bike separationBrake effectively and clear obstaclesRoll down drops of about a foot and hone other trail skillsApproach small jumps and dropsCorner and ride bermsPerform basic wheel lift techniquesThis is an intermediate class. Maximum 6 students. No matter how you ride your bike, you're about to ride it better! Clinics meet on the east side of Valmont Bike Park near the pavilion next to the dog park. WHO THIS CLINIC IS FOR You’ve been mountain biking long enough to be comfortable on singletrack trails. You know how to shift and brake and are comfortable at a trail area like Betasso. You want to get better at getting up, over and down natural trail features like rocks, roots and logs. DESCRIPTION Living in Colorado, it seems we’re always going up or downhill. In this clinic for more experienced riders, you will continue to find ways to improve your riding. We will spend the beginning of the class reviewing Foundation skills and then apply these skills to navigating up and down rock features throughout the park. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN Navigate roots, logs, and rocks in both directionsPerform wheel lifts for clearing obstaclesApply climbing and descending techniquesRoll down large drops and land air-off dropsDismount while climbing or descendingThis is an intermediate class.
