Join the talented DecaVita Sisters, Charlie and Rebecka, renowned performers and instructors of vintage jazz styles, as they bring their captivating workshops to Adelaide on February 24, 2024. With their extensive experience and love for dance, Charlie and Rebecka have traveled the world, sharing their passion for Lindy Hop and The Charleston. Prepare for a day filled with excitement and education as they lead immersive Solo Jazz and Charleston Dance Workshops. These workshops are designed to enhance your dance skills through a combination of rhythm exercises, technique drills, and engaging choreography. With a focus on syncopation, isolations, and variations in timing, participants will develop a strong connection to the music. Fundamental jazz dance techniques, including posture, weight distribution, and body alignment, will be broken down to ensure a thorough understanding. Each class will feature a dynamic Jazz and Charleston choreography piece that combines various steps and techniques learned during the workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to grasp each element thoroughly as the choreography is broken down into manageable sections. The importance of musicality in jazz dance will be emphasized, exploring different genres and adapting dance to suit various rhythms and tempos. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced dancer, the DecaVita Sisters Adelaide Workshops offer a holistic approach to jazz and Charleston dance. The workshops will take place at the Russian Community Centre, located at 239 The Parade, Norwood, SA 5067. Please note that there is no on-site car parking, but street parking is available in the surrounding area. The Charleston Workshop will run from 12:15 PM to 1:45 PM, followed by a break from 1:45 PM to 2:15 PM. The Solo Jazz Workshop will then take place from 2:15 PM to 3:45 PM. Tickets for each workshop can be purchased for $30, or attend both workshops for $55. All levels of experience are welcome.
