Learn to Ride | Dalby Forest Cycle Hub
Sports & Fitness
The Learn to Ride sessions held at Dalby Forest Cycle Hub in Thornton Dale are designed to equip young riders with the necessary skills to confidently ride a bike independently. These sessions take place in a secure outdoor training area adjacent to the Hub, ensuring a safe learning environment. Each coach leading the sessions is a qualified cycle instructor with extensive experience in teaching children how to ride. It is recommended that children bring their own bikes to the sessions, as this allows them to become familiar with the bike they will continue to use after completing the course. However, free bike rentals are available upon request. Safety is paramount, and all riders are required to wear helmets, which can be borrowed if needed. Suitable clothing must also be worn, taking into account the prevailing weather conditions. During the sessions, children will learn essential bike skills such as mounting and dismounting correctly, maintaining balance, steering, and braking. To ensure optimal learning, each group consists of a maximum of four participants, and the sessions are open to children up to the age of 10. If your child does not have a bike, free rentals can be arranged by contacting our staff at 01751 460585, providing the date of the session, your child's age, and height. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to allow for travel and check-in, as instructors can only wait for five minutes past the start time. Don't miss out on this opportunity for your child to learn the essential skill of bike riding. Join us at Dalby Forest Cycle Hub and embark on this exciting journey.
