See you there! ABOUT EL-FUNOUN El-Funoun Palestinian Popular Dance Troupe is widely regarded as the premiere dance company in Palestine. The Troupe has developed an innovative style of dance deeply-rooted in Palestinian and Arab folklore, tradition, and dabke fused with elements of contemporary dance and movement. Since its establishment in 1979, El-Funoun has produced 16 major dance productions. It has an impressive track record of over 1,500 performances locally, throughout historic Palestine, regionally and internationally and has performed in major Arab and international festivals, earning several awards and certificates. El-Funoun provides dabke workshops for children throughout the West Bank as well as Palestinian refugees in Amman. The Troupe has also conducted numerous workshops internationally. In Palestine, El-Funoun has developed a school for the contemporary Palestinian dabke that it has evolved over the years. El-Funoun is a non-profit, almost fully volunteer based dance company with 267 members.
