This two-part workshop is designed to dip your toes in the wonderful zine-making world through Risograph printing, learning the tips and tricks of this unique method which bridges the gap between analogue and digital production. You are required to commit to attending both sessions, please do not book if your availability is limited to only one of the days. Spaces are limited to six. Any copies of your zine made on the day are yours to keep. You will also receive one copy of the other participants’ zines as a keepsake from the workshop. One of each copy will be donated to the Highland Zine Bothy’s growing collection. The workshop is designed for all skill levels, and all necessary materials are provided; participants are only required to bring their enthusiasm and an open mind! Spaces for this workshop are limited to six. Tickets are priced on a sliding scale to ensure affordability, with all proceeds directly supporting the Highland Zine Bothy. Day 1: Sunday 13th October, 3-5pm📍 Highland Zine Bothy, Circus Artspace, Telford Retail Park In the first session, you’ll be invited to browse the Highland Zine Bothy’s diverse collection of over 250 zines – bonus points if you can spot the Riso-printed ones! – to help inspire your mini zine outcome. Then, you’ll be shown the ‘mini zine’ format, so that you can focus on content design for the remainder of the session. If you don’t finish, don’t worry: you’ll be able to take your mini zine home to work on it in your own time. Day 2: Sunday 20th October, 3-5pm📍 Isle of Riso, Inverness Creative Academy During the second session, you’ll be invited into the Isle of Riso print studio for a lesson and live demo on how Risograph printing works. Then, you will have the opportunity to print several copies of your mini zine on hand-picked paperstock in one of their chosen coloured ink options. Workshop tickets are built on a sliding scale from £24-£36 per person (£12-£18 per session) to cover the printing and material costs, a highly cost-effective way to try your hand at this unique printing style. The popular Senior Social - Curling event is making a comeback in Telford! Hosted by Oakengates Town Council at The Wakes, this social activity is designed for adults aged 50 and over.
