Brysen completed his Bachelors in Biology with a minor in Biomedical sciences at Colorado State University with the intentions of becoming a Veterinarian. After moving to Chicago Brysen had a career shift and went into nursing, completing a Masters in Nursing at University of Illinois Chicago. Brysen worked as an emergency room nurse during Covid and began taking pottery as a way to cope and escape the hardships of his job. Brysen’s ceramic work explores an intuitive process of creating that combines both wheel throwing and hand building. Inspired by nature, his silhouettes imitate organic imperfections and shapes that can be found in the wild. We will share a reading (and singing!) of Kerry Westell's new musical under the direction of Mitchell Cushman with musical direction and piano accompaniment by James Smith, featuring six powerhouse performers: Aidan Desalaiz, Julian De Zotti, Izzy Eryavec, Carolyn Fe , Tracy Michailidis and Amaka Umeh, with stage management by Annasofie Jakobsen.
