Unleash your creativity and learn the unique techniques of direct plaster and lost wax bronze sculpting with artist Thomas Bucich. Unleash your creativity with a weekend of Sculpting. Thomas Bucich will guide you through his own creative techniques of direct plaster sculpting through to working with wax for bronze casting. This intensive workshop will allow you to explore various ways to create forms using methods and materials that Thomas uses in his own art practice. Each participant will be guided to create original works from small torsos to abstract forms experimenting with various processes. The weekend will result in you taking home your finished works in plaster, and / or wax, with the option have having bronze cast following the workshop. The workshop will include all materials required from custom welded steel armatures through to carving foam, wax and plaster. Bronze casting costs are not included and will be quoted separately for each work requested. Saturday 5 October and Sunday 6 October OR Saturday 9 November and Sunday 10 November Here's What Awaits You: -Hands-On Guidance: With only 6 seats available per class, enjoy personalised attention as Thomas guides you through each step of the sculpting process. -Stunning Studio Setting: Set in the picturesque Southern Highlands, experience the perfect backdrop for artistic inspiration as you unleash your creativity in Thomas's working studio setting. -Expert Instruction: Learn from a seasoned practitioner as Thomas shares his wealth of knowledge and experience, from conceptualisation to constructing base forms, working with wax and plaster and creating textures, ensuring you leave with newfound skills and insights. The Workshop will cover: -Learning the basic processes of direct plaster modelling, along with lost wax sculpture. -The importance of structural integrity when creating sculpture including using steel and wood armatures. -Working directly with wax to be ale to produce a one off bronze casting without the need of a mould. -Working directly in plaster to achieve finished works within the course of the weekend. -Principals of using moulds to achieve editions/multiple castings With a rich background in fine art and architectural design, multidisciplinary artist Thomas Bucich brings a unique blend of creativity and expertise to his practice. Thomas will share his personal experience and knowledge of producing bronze sculpture from small works through to large scale public commissions.-The original wax sculptures produced in the workshop will be sent to Sydney to be cast in bronze. Firm quotations will be provided for approval prior to any casting, and casting costs will be invoiced to and paid directly by each artist. As a price guide, bronze castings will begin at approximately $250 per piece depending on size and complexity.
