Starting from Monday 2 December, Snowsport Scotland and Fife Nordic Ski Club are running after school roller ski sessions for primary school children. There is no minimum age, but the smallest boot size available is a childs UK 13. P6 and P7s typically find roller skiing a bit easier to pick up than younger children due to the weight of the roller skis. The sessions are free and kids are welcome to come to all sessions or just one or two (we currently have three dates planned pre-Christmas). Sessions will be activity and games based with a little bit of skill development. Over time the sessions will look to cover of the Nordic Proficiency Award levels 1 and 2. Attendees will want to bring clothes they are happy to be active in and weather appropriate clothing (i.e. jackets if it is wet or windy). Thin gloves are nice to have and please bring a cycle helmet if you have one. Cycle helmets must be worn for the activity so we will lend you one if you don't have your own.
