Birkenhead Park Rugby Club, located in Birkenhead, is excited to host the Y5/6 Tag Rugby, Six Nations Plate event (Inspire). This event is specifically designed for pupils who are new to rugby competitions and wish to participate in competitive sports. As part of our Community Rugby Partnership with local schools and Merseyside Police, we are committed to promoting and developing the sport at the grassroots level. In line with this, we have organized a series of tag rugby events, including two tournaments for schools that have been actively engaged with us over the past few years. These tournaments will culminate in a finals day on Thursday 2nd May 2024. The event is aimed at Year 5 and 6 students, with a focus on engaging new and target groups of young people and addressing inequalities. Each participating school will be divided into two groups, both attending two different dates before coming together for the finals day. The matches will run similarly to regular tournaments, with mixed teams comprising a minimum of two girls. The squad size is limited to ten, while each team will consist of eight players. This Y5/6 Tag Rugby, Six Nations Plate event (Inspire) promises to be an exciting opportunity for beginners to experience the thrill of competitive sports.
