Nov 7, 2024 (UTC-7)
Salt Lake City
Clear your calendar - It's going down! The Salt lake City, UT stop of the TREW To You Community Film Tour is here! Last year, TREW scoured hundreds of applications from skiers and snowboarders across the U.S. and Canada and selected just 10 teams to create short films showcasing their personality, perspectives, and local stomping grounds. To add some spice, teams had only 8-weeks to film and 4-weeks to edit their film during winter ‘24. The time has come for us to enjoy the fruits of these teams labor! We will have a bangin' raffle with prizes from supporters TREW Gear, Hestra, Pit Viper, Super Pacific, J Skis, Evo, Fifty Fifty, and more! All proceeds from the raffle will be going to - SheJumps - who works to increase the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities and creates educational outdoor experiences that nurture growth and transformation. Come watch the films, get hyped for winter, and have the chance to support the local crew! Meet Team Little Light Erica, Marcus, Nic, Calen, and AJ have been working together on projects for the past few years. Each teammate brings their own strength: Nic has a keen eye for stills, AJ is a creative powerhouse, Marcus is often called the weird rig guy (due to his unique camera angles), Calen is a talented drone op/filmer, and Erica has a vision. This will be Erica's first time directing a project with a creative team. They are all VERY stoked to be a part of the Trew To You contest.

About the book The first collection from comic artist Hannah Hillam poses the question: What if our cats were responsible for taking care of us for a change? Following an unwitting human who finds herself in a world where humans' and cats' roles have reversed, Cat People examines the special and inscrutable relationship we have with our feline companions, revealing the delightful absurdities of both species along the way. Only the keen eyes of cats could so sharply examine the most bizarre human behaviors we don't think twice about, including grooming, eating, sleeping, working, and competing with other humans for attention and territory. By flipping the script and casting humans in the role of pet, Hannah Hillam spins an unforgettable tail of the unique love and often baffling coexistence between cats and people.

About American Teenager: How Trans Kids Are Surviving Hate and Finding Joy in a Turbulent Era Media coverage tends to sensationalize the fight over how trans kids should be allowed to live, but what is incredibly rare are the voices of the people at the heart of this debate: transgender and gender nonconforming kids themselves. For their groundbreaking new book, journalist Nico Lang spent a year traveling the country to document the lives of transgender, nonbinary, and genderfluid teens and their families. Drawing on hundreds of hours of on-the-ground interviews with them and the people in their communities, American Teenager paints a vivid portrait of what it’s actually like to grow up trans today.
From the tip of Florida’s conservative panhandle to vibrant queer communities in California, and from Texas churches to mosques in Illinois, American Teenager gives readers a window into the lives of Wyatt, Rhydian, Mykah, Clint, Ruby, Augie, Jack, and Kylie, eight teens who, despite what some lawmakers might want us to believe, are truly just kids looking for a brighter future.
“With heartfelt empathy, Nico Lang uncovers the human stories overshadowed by political rhetoric, showcasing the struggles and resilience of transgender youth amidst adversity while simultaneously amplifying their voices, which are all too often silenced.”
—JAZZ JENNINGS, author of Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen and I Am Jazz About Nico Lang Nico Lang is the creator of Queer News Daily and an award-winning reporter, editor, essayist, author, and critic. You can read their work in Rolling Stone, Esquire, Teen Vogue, Them, the Advocate, Vice, the Wall Street Journal, Out, the Daily Beast, HuffPost, BuzzFeed News, and the L.A. Times, among others. About the book Teddy Andersen doesn’t have a plan. She’s never needed one before. She’s always been more of a go-with-the-flow type of girl, but for some reason, the flow doesn’t seem to be going her way this time.
Her favorite vintage suede jacket has a hole in it, her sewing machine is broken, and her best friend just got engaged. Suddenly, everything feels like it’s starting to change. Teddy is used to being a leader, but now she feels like she’s getting left behind, wondering if life in the small town she loves is enough for her anymore.
Gus Ryder has a lot on his plate. He doesn’t know what’s harder: taking care of his family’s 8,000 acre ranch, or parenting his spunky six-year-old daughter, who is staying with him for the summer. Gus has always been the dependable one, but when his workload starts to overwhelm him, he has to admit that he can’t manage everything on his own. He needs help.
His little sister’s best friend, the woman he can’t stand, is not who he had in mind. But when no one else can step in, Teddy’s the only option he’s got. Teddy decides to use the summer to try and figure out what she wants out of life. Gus, on the other hand, starts to worry that he’ll never find what he needs.
Tempers flare, tension builds, and for the first time ever, Gus and Teddy start to see each other in a different light. As new feelings start to simmer below the surface, they must decide whether they should act on them. Can they keep things cool? Or will both of them get burned?
