Miniature Collage Workshop | Kenwood House
Sep 1, 2024 (UTC+0)ENDED
Hampstead
Explore your creativity to make miniature collage portraits in this workshop hosted at the beautiful Kenwood House! Tailored for 18-25 year olds, this event offers a playful and reflective exploration of identity and self-representation through the art of collage. During the workshop, we will reflect on how we see ourselves and how we wish to be seen by others. Take part in an informal icebreaker game to create portraits of fellow participants, then enjoy some reflective time to craft your own self-portrait. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just looking to try something new, this session offers a supportive and inspiring environment to express yourself and connect with others. Note: This workshop is open to anyone aged 18-25. Spaces are limited, so book your spot today! Project context: This workshop is part of the series 'MINIATURE NARRATIVES: CRAFTING IDENTITY THROUGH PORTRAIT MINIATURES'. Assemblage Collective is thrilled to have been selected for Reverberate, an English Heritage initiative that supports grassroots, youth-focused heritage projects. For more information, see Shout Out Loud, English Heritage's national youth engagement programme: http://shoutoutloud.org.uk/ Inspired by Kenwood House and the Draper Gift of portrait miniatures, our latest series of creative workshops will delve into the rich history of portraiture from the 18th century to today. We will explore themes of representation and identity, creating miniature self-portraits in various mediums. The project events will take place between July - September 2024.
