Tony Law comes to Swindon's largest independant comedy club on Saturday October 4th to headline the Swindon Old Town Comedy Club Autumn Showcase at the Christ Church Community Centre! Tony Law is a Canadian comedy legend, who became a household name among UK Comedy fans following his TV appearences on shows such as: Russell Howard's Good News, Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, Charlie Brooker's Screen Wipe and much, much more! He has alsosold out venues across the UK on his many tours! We're thrilled to host Tony Law at The Swindon Old Town Comedy Club! This session is designed for children with addtional needs to help them learn how to ride a bike independently. It will be led by local cycling coaches, Paul Ashman and Jen Purcell. The group size will be smaller for this session. This session will run on the main cycle track alongside the Limitless Kids & Family cycling session for SEND children and their families. Bikes and helmets are available to borrow or you can bring your own. We strongly recommend that riders wear a helmetto take part in the sessions. Please ensure that children are wearing suitable shoes and clothing for cycling and the weather conditions. The sessions will continue in wet weather and will only be cancelled if a weather warning is in place (e.g storm), all participants will be contacted in advance if this is the case. Where possible please remove any stabilisers from your child's bike before attending. These sessions are provided thanks to grant funding from Sport England's Movement Fund.

Lest We Forget: The Black Contribution to the World Wars in Wiltshire | Swindon

In 1943 the American 101st Airborne division constructed a military hospital in the grounds of Lydiard Park and troops were stationed there, including African American GI’s. Lest We Forget respectfully tells some of the stories and experiences of the Black community living and working in the Armed forces in Wiltshire during that time.
The exhibition at Lydiard House is part of a larger exhibition developed by Wiltshire Museum as part of the Wessex Museums Partnership. On display is fascinating archive material from the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre and the National Archives, and a poignant memorial wreath from Wiltshire Museum. Objects and artwork from the collection at Museum and Art Swindon form a key part of the exhibition, including a painting of Regent Circus in 1945 by local artist Harold Dearden and a wooden cross from the grave of an unknown Wiltshire soldier.

Bikes and helmets are available to borrow or you can bring your own. All riders must wear a helmet to take part in the sessions. Please ensure that children are wearing suitable shoes and clothing for cycling and the weather conditions. The sessions will continue in wet weather and will only be cancelled if a weather warning is in place (e.g storm), all participants will be contacted in advance if this is the case. Sessions will take place on the main cycle track. These sessions are provided thanks to grant funding from Sport England's Movement Fund. They ARE NOT for children on stablisers or those who have not yet learned to cycle independently.
