Making ice cream seems simple, but there is much more to it than meets the eye. Whether you encounter ice cream in Amsterdam or make your own at home, the science behind it is fascinating. Have you ever wondered why the ice cream you take out of the freezer is often cloudy? This is because it freezes too fast, trapping air bubbles and small impurities. Clear ice, on the other hand, melts more slowly and is perfect for in your drink. To make clear ice, you can boil water first or let it freeze slowly. This way, you remove air and impurities, which not only makes your glass look better, but also keeps your drink cooler for longer without diluting too much.

For Circulate 21 artists were selected, all of whom use photography in unique and innovative ways, thinking beyond the frame. Their work also attests to the impact of the image in our daily lives. Many of the works in Circulate were created especially for the exhibition and will be on view for the first time.
