The artists created SOS Color Code, an outdoor installation currently on view at the Haggerty. Using the universal languages of Morse code and color theory, a series of printed flags transform the international signal of distress (SOS) into a sign of solidarity and connectedness. A companion indoor installation, Color Code, by Bachmaier and Gallero, presents a painted mural with changing color light projections, also in the form of Morse code dots and dashes. Both installations coincide with the 2024 presidential election and the International Day of Democracy. The International Day of Democracy, celebrated annually on September 15th, was established in 2007 by the UN General Assembly to encourage governments to review, consolidate, and strengthen democracy. Tours step off every 15 minutes from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We expect tours to sell out and won’t be able to put guests who are late into other tours. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your tour to allow plenty of time to park, walk to the entrance, check in and get to the tour start. Professional stage lighting and AV technology throughout the tour will help ensure that all spirits are clearly seen and heard.
