Designed for law enforcement and defensive shooters, this class at Cavalier Rifle and Pistol Club in Montpelier, VA will equip participants with the skills needed to master their shotguns under pressure. Pushing beyond the basics, attendees will enhance their speed, accuracy, and manipulation techniques. With a focus on fundamental execution and advanced strategies, this intensive course is not for beginners. A $40 range fee is required on the first day, in addition to bringing 200 birdshot or buckshot, 50 buck, and 25 slugs (no steel or tungsten shot permitted). Participants must also have suitable defensive or duty shotguns and appropriate eye and ear protection. The event runs from June 1st to June 2nd, 2024, with tickets priced at $500. Many individuals may feel intimidated by the perceived recoil of the shotgun, but this class will teach attendees how to tame this powerful weapon and gain confidence. The course is specifically tailored for law enforcement and defensive-minded shooters who want to enhance their knowledge and skills in operating and controlling shotguns under stressful circumstances. While the class begins with a refresher of the basics, students will be challenged to improve their speed, accuracy, and manipulation efficiency with the shotgun. The focus will be on executing the fundamentals and exploring advanced techniques. It is important to note that this is not a beginner level class. In addition to the ticket price of $500, there is a cash range fee of $40 due on the first day. Participants are required to bring their own ammunition and gear, including 200 birdshot or buckshot, 50 buck (25 of which should be quality defensive or issued duty ammunition), and 25 slugs. Steel or tungsten shot is not permitted. A suitable defensive or duty shotgun is also necessary. Eye and ear protection, specifically filtered or powered ear protection, are required to ensure safety on the range. Attendees are advised to bring their own lunch as working lunches will be held during the event.
