Blades of Steel: 3-on-3 Pond Hockey Tournament is back for its 3rd Annual event at Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club in Sturgeon County. Taking place on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 8AM to 5PM, this thrilling tournament is not to be missed.
Teams can enter the competition for a fee of $600 + GST per team. With each team consisting of 6 players, get ready for some intense pond hockey action. And don't worry about the cold, as we have heated facilities both indoor and outdoor to keep you warm and focused on the game.
All players will receive a copy of the Rules & Regulations in their Captains packages, and it is the responsibility of Captains to ensure that each player on their team reads and understands the rules. Stay updated with the tournament schedule through the TeamSnap app, where the detailed schedule will be available from February 1, 2024.
Each team is guaranteed a minimum of three games, including playoffs. Please note that the tournament is weather-dependent, and in case of unfavorable weather conditions, a full refund will be issued. All teams must bring their own regulation-sized net to the tournament venue.
Player eligibility requires that all players meet the minimum age requirement of 16 years old for their division as of the first day of tournament play. Additionally, all players must present appropriate photo ID for age verification at registration, along with a signed waiver and Rules & Regs form.
With a focus on fair play and excellent sportsmanship, we are looking for teams to self-manage their games in the Championships, with assistance from our dedicated Pond Volunteer. Remember, all calls made by the Volunteer are final.

Join the excitement at the highly anticipated Junior Blades of Steel: 4-on-4 Pond Hockey Tournament! This thrilling event will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the picturesque Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club in Sturgeon County.
The tournament will showcase the skills of talented young hockey players, with teams competing in a 4-on-4 format. Each team consists of 9 players, including 1 goalie and 8 skaters. Don't let the winter chill deter you, as we have both indoor and outdoor heated facilities to ensure your comfort throughout the day.
Participating teams will enjoy a minimum of three games, including playoffs, guaranteeing plenty of on-ice action. All players will receive a copy of the Rules & Regulations, which must be read and understood by each team member. Stay updated on the tournament schedule through the TeamSnap app, available from February 1, 2024.
Safety is our top priority, and all players must wear full hockey equipment in accordance with Hockey Edmonton guidelines. Additionally, offensive shots from the home side of half ice and slapshots are not allowed.
To facilitate smooth gameplay, games will consist of two 12-minute halves, with a five-minute break in between. Please note that punctuality is essential, as late teams will be penalized and may forfeit the game.
Player conduct is of utmost importance, and any abusive language or physical contact will not be tolerated. Fighting is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate suspension from the tournament.
Register your team at the Banquet Hall between 8 AM - 9 AM on the day of the event. The registration fee is $450 + GST per team, and each team will receive a complimentary drink, chili, bun, and dessert with their admission.
