The ARTx3 Campus is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibit, "Voting Along Colored Lines: The Voices of the South," which will be on display from October 27th to March 16th. Located at 701 South Main Street in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, this exhibition is a part of the ASC Permanent Collection and showcases a variety of works that explore the local culture, people, and heritage of the Delta region. The ASC will be hosting a reception on Friday, October 27th, from 5-7 p.m. to celebrate the opening of this new addition to their Permanent Collection. In conjunction with the traveling exhibition "Voices And Votes: Democracy In America," this showcase will provide a unique perspective on the rich history and diverse voices of the South. This thought-provoking showcase, presented by the Smithsonian Institution and State Humanities Councils across the country, combines historical and contemporary photos, interactive games, videos, and informative displays. Immerse yourself in the rich history of American democracy through the lens of campaign souvenirs, voter memorabilia, and protest materials. This exceptional exhibition, a result of collaboration between the National Museum of American History and the Museum on Main Street, has been made possible thanks to the support of the United States Congress, the Arkansas Humanities Council, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Delta Upcycle Challenge (D.U.C.) invites high school and college students to participate in a regional initiative by the ARTx3 Campus. The D.U.C. aims to raise awareness about the impact of human activities on the environment and promote strategies to minimize this impact. Through artistic expression, participants will showcase how communities can collaborate to create a beautiful tomorrow. There are two competitions within the project: the Upcycled Mini-Sculpture for high school students and the Upcycled Fashion Show for college, university, or trade school students. The D.U.C. is open to students in several counties in Arkansas. The top 20 entries in both competitions will be showcased, judged, and awarded in person on April 13, coinciding with Earth Day, at the ARTx3 Campus.
