Andrea Long ‘In The Flesh’ art exhibition opening | The Fenwick
Feb 15, 2024 (UTC+10)ENDED
East Greenwich
Andrea Long's highly anticipated art exhibition, 'In The Flesh', is set to open at The Fenwick in Balmain East on February 15, 2024. Curated by Kristia Moises, this exhibition showcases Long's captivating exploration of the human body and flesh as her artistic focus. Long's unique approach encompasses both traditional and three-dimensional forms, incorporating wire to transform her canvas into tactile sensations. By using paint and wire as her primary mediums, she skillfully blends artist acrylic paint and house paint to create textured paint skins, resulting in pleasantly unpredictable outcomes. The fluidity and movement of the paint have even led Long to delve into video artwork, capturing the mesmerizing qualities of this medium. Beyond the creative process, Long's studio becomes a place for repurposing unwanted or discarded remnants of paint, adding an additional layer of depth to her art. Each piece encapsulates a fascinating dialogue between intention and the inherent qualities of the materials used. Long invites viewers to join her on this subtle journey of self-discovery through the tangible interaction of paint and wire.
