The Learn to Ride Course is a fantastic opportunity for children aged 4 years and above to develop their bike riding skills. This 4-day course consists of four one-hour sessions, focusing on teaching children how to ride a bike with pedals independently. Designed specifically for children aged 4-10 years old, this course is perfect for those who are eager to learn how to ride a bike. For 4-year-olds, it is recommended that they attend our Balance Bike course prior to joining this program. Throughout the course, children will learn various skills, including fitting a helmet, mounting and dismounting the bike, balancing, steering, braking, and pedaling. To ensure their safety and build their confidence, we will lower the seats and remove the pedals from their bikes for the first three sessions. This allows children to learn the necessary skills while still being able to put their feet on the ground if they lose their balance. The course will take place at St Joseph's College in Ipswich, specifically in the sports hall. It will be held on the following four dates: Monday 19th February, Tuesday 20th February, Wednesday 21st February, and Thursday 22nd February. Each session will run from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, and it is important for participants to attend all four sessions. Parents are encouraged to observe the sessions so that they can better understand the skills being taught and can assist their child with practice outside of the course. The cost of the course is £50 per child, plus a small booking fee. Participants are required to bring their own bikes and helmets, although bikes can be borrowed if needed. All participants must wear suitable bike helmets at all times during the sessions. Comfortable clothing is recommended, suitable for both indoor and outdoor conditions.
