Mokulito Printing, a unique form of lithography, will be showcased at the Essex Print Studio in Margaretting. Taking place on Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th from 11am to 4pm, this event offers an opportunity to explore the intriguing relationship between oil and water. Unlike traditional lithography, Mokulito employs a plywood plate for drawing the image, resulting in small and variable editions due to the organic nature of the wood. Throughout the printing session, the wood's grain gradually becomes more prominent, creating captivating veils of color. By combining Mokulito with woodcut, participants can produce contrasting sharp lines and textures. Led by experienced tutor Caroline Whitehead, this one-day workshop will guide attendees in the art of drawing, processing, and printing one or two Mokulito plates. The event promises to captivate those who enjoy drawing and experimenting with different mark-making techniques. Standard tickets are priced at £220 per person. Join the Mokulito Printing workshop to discover the fascinating possibilities of this captivating medium.
