Feb 19, 2024 (UTC+0)ENDED
Norwich
Children aged 4 years and older have an exciting opportunity to participate in a four-day Learn to Ride course. This course is specifically designed for children between the ages of 4 and 10 who want to learn how to ride a bike with pedals. It is recommended that 4-year-olds attend our Balance Bike course prior to enrolling in this program.
During the course, children will develop the necessary skills and confidence to ride a bike with pedals independently. The course consists of four one-hour sessions, where children will learn how to fit a helmet, mount and dismount the bike, balance, steer, brake, and pedal. To ensure safety and build confidence, we will lower the seats and remove the pedals from the bikes for the first three sessions. This allows children to learn the essential skills while still being able to put their feet on the ground if they lose balance.
The fourth session will focus on putting the pedals back on and teaching children how to perform the skills while pedaling. The course will take place over four dates, from Monday 19th February to Thursday 22nd February, with sessions held between 9.30-10.30am each day. It is important for participants to attend all four sessions.
The course will be held indoors in the sports hall at Sewell Park Academy in Norwich. We encourage parents to observe all sessions so they can understand the skills being taught and support their child's practice outside of the sessions.
The cost for the four-session course is £50 per child, plus a small booking fee. Participants are required to bring their own bikes and helmets. However, if needed, bikes can be borrowed and helmets can be provided. It is mandatory for all participants to wear a suitable bike helmet throughout the course.
Children should wear comfortable clothing appropriate for both indoor and outdoor conditions. We recommend long sleeve tops and soft trousers for maximum comfort. Skirts and dresses are not recommended.
A full refund is available up to 7 days prior to the start of the course. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity for your child to learn how to ride a bike with pedals.
