Artists Of Note - Molton Brown Brighton x Nautlius Lounge | Molton Brown Brighton
Sep 28, 2024 (UTC+0)
Brighton
The Concept Molton Brown commissioned three British creatives from diverse backgrounds. We asked each of them to interpret a different Molton Brown icon. They expressed the feeling evoked by the perfume, through their unique vision and medium, into a vivid, multi-sensory piece that celebrates the power of Molton Brown fragrance. Nature x memory x culture. Each of our talent has chosen one of three iconic scents to interpret through their unique experiences and artistic mediums. Fashion Designer – Nicholas Daley has created a knitted textile artwork that’s inspired by the Black Pepper fragrance; an icon scent he was immediately drawn towards. Poet – Dr John Cooper Clarke has paired with the Coastal Cypress and Sea Fennel fragrance, and has created a bespoke poem inspired by the scent. Artist & Jeweller – Gala Colivet Dennison has created a piece inspired by the beautiful Rose Dunes fragrance. We have complementary cocktails created especially for Molton Brown Brighton by Nautlius Lounge, which reimagine each of the fragrances showcased. You will also have a chance to learn more about the Molton Brown Artists of Note campaign and receive a complimentary fragrance consultation. If time allows, you can have a Hand & Arm massage while trying our different scents.

FREE Calisthenics Taster For Beginners In Brighton | Wild Park Calisthenics Park
Sep 7, 2024 (UTC+0)ENDED
Brighton
Gravity-defying strength. Impressive skills. Bodyweight mastery.Sounds cool, but where do you get started?
You're in the right place - we love introducing people into the world of calisthenics and would be happy to help get you going with our free taster session. What is Calisthenics in a nutshell? In short, calisthenics is a combination of bodyweight exercise such as: PullupsDipsRowsPushupsLeg raises... and gymnastics strength skills like: HandstandsMuscle-upsHuman flagLeversPlancheYou can start working towards all of this and more; we're only just scratching the surface of what calisthenics has to offer, but you'll have to come and see for yourself! Whether you're sold on the impressive skills, simply wish to build some functional strength, or just want to give calisthenics a try, our taster session is a great place to start. I highly recommend Tom and Emma's classes to anyone who wants to work on strength and calisthenics. I didn't have an athletic background and initially thought I wouldn't be able to build strength or calisthenics skills. Tom and Emma are both extremely knowledgeable, and have given me really comprehensive advice. That combined with their encouragement has got me from struggling to hang on a bar to full pull-ups which was hugely satisfying for me.Henrietta Klein ★★★★★ During our 1 hour taster session, you will practice:Key beginner calisthenics skills
We will help you to explore movement, coordination and stability by introducing you to the gymnastics rings along with some basic inversion drills (upside down stuff!) on the floor. Fundamental bodyweight exercises
We will show you how to build functional, powerful strength that will set you up for success in calisthenics and, in the long term, reward you with incredible health benefits. Conditioning drills
We will also include strengthening for some smaller areas of the body that are often overlooked but are equally as important to work on, both for calisthenics purposes and your overall health. Targeted stretching
We will finish off by stretching common areas of stiffness which, when practiced regularly, will help to improve your movement and avoid pain or injury. Who is it for?Our taster session is designed for beginners, whether you're an absolute beginner who has never tried calisthenics before, or you've given it a go but aren't well practiced. Everything we work on during the session can be adapted to your ability and fitness level. Please note: our taster sessions are only for those who've not worked with us before. If you already have, please allow others the opportunity to join our taster instead, or better yet recommend it to someone you know! Where is it?This taster session will take place at Wild Park Calisthenics Gym, a well equipped outdoor gym on the outskirts of Brighton towards Stanmer Park. Free car parking is available at Wild Park main entrance. Please note that the Wild Park toilets are often closed so there is usually no access to toilets or water! Who are we?We're Tom and Emma, the couple behind Calisthenics Brighton and huge enthuesiasts for calisthenics, movement and fitness. We offer calisthenics classes and coaching in Brighton, both indoors and outdoors with our main location at FMG Gym in the North Laines. Our mission is to build a calisthenics community accessible to anybody, working together and encouraging each other towards quality movement and inspiring feats of strength alike in a fun, positive environment. You can find our more about us on our website, or see us in action on our Instagram. Coaching was simply the best I have experienced. Tom and Emma are incredibly knowledgeable, experienced and supportive. I always felt safe knowing I am getting the best possible advice and guidance that I can trust.
The classes were really well structured, professionally led, and always fun and enjoyable. A truly inclusive space. No matter if beginner or advanced – everyone’s unique abilities were acknowledged, whilst also challenged just the right amount. I left every class feeling like a better and stronger version of myself.
Long story short, I couldn’t recommend enough – and based on my own experience, I'm confident that wherever you are on your calisthenics/handstands/fitness journey, joining this community is bound to take you further than you ever imagined possible.Triin Schneider ★★★★★

Join us for a night of catchy tunes and infectious energy with Canadian Alt-Pop Duo Pillow Fite at The Folklore Rooms in Brighton on Sept 16 Canadian Alt-Pop Duo Pillow Fite is coming to The Folklore Rooms in Brighton, UK on Sept 16th! What if Suzanne Vega fronted The Strokes, but they were gay and poor? That musical act would be called Pillow Fite. With a handful of singles, an EP (Flutter), and a new full-length (Hard Feelings, Soft Promises), Art Ross (they/them/Pisces) and Aaron Green (he/him/Virgo) off their respective gifts of reflection and melody for moody, melodic indie-rock aimed straight at the heart. Hard Feelings, Soft Promises is the result of a gently but perpetually evolving sound, a mash-up of genres that arrives at something as singular as it is queer. Pillow Fite is a band who loves, cries, and cavorts in Canada but are touring the EU and US in fall 2024.
