Land’s End is a rhapsody on the beauty, wonder, and complexity of our seas: a call to celebrate, protect, and sustain their unparalleled majesty. Standing at land’s end—at the precipice of the vast ocean—one cannot help but feel humbled by its unparalleled beauty; contemplate the mysteries of its seemingly infinite expanse; and consider its powerful, yet complex, relationship with human history. The ocean has provided us with some of our greatest opportunities for interconnection while simultaneously facilitating some of our most devastating impacts on both human and natural environments. A partnership with AltaSea and the Port of Los Angeles, Land’s End speaks to the L.A. We hope you will enjoy a musical and sensory experience that features three works by L.A.-based composers—including a world premiere—that takes place in the Port of Los Angeles’s Berth 60—the first choral performance of its kind in this location—and that transports you to a place of contemplation, wonder, and action. Before the concert begins, we invite you to join a VIP Experience featuring an open bar of custom cocktails handcrafted by local mixologists the Spirit Guides, a colorful charcuterie spread, and live instrumental music in a private waterfront location with iconic views of the Angels Gate Lighthouse at the Port of Los Angeles. Waterstones Lancaster Welcomes Cricketing Legend Jimmy Anderson | Marketgate Shopping Centre

Nov 12, 2024 (UTC+0)ENDED
Lancaster
Sports & Fitness
One of the true cricketing greats, Jimmy Anderson recounts in his autobiography Finding The Edge his truly remarkable story - from his early career at Lancashire to success with England and a quartet of stunning Ashes victories. 'As a player, you don't get a chance to reflect much - there's always the next over to bowl, the next game to play - and so I can't wait to get into this, to tell the story of the journey so far, because it's been truly unforgettable.' 21 years. 188 Test Matches. 704 Test Wickets. This is the final word on a spectacular career spanning over 20 years from one of England's greatest ever bowlers, Jimmy Anderson. A story of dedication and resilience, Jimmy gives his unfiltered take on his experiences coming of age as a 15- year-old playing for Burnley Cricket Club, the astronomic ascent to making his international debut at twenty years old and every astonishing moment in the 21 years since. Told with the honesty, humility and dry humour that have made the public fall in love with Jimmy, this is the book that reveals it all. Celebrating the soaring highs: facing international greats such as Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar and winning the Ashes four times. Reflecting on the tough lows: crushing defeats and the shock of being dropped. Finally, his resurgence under Brendon McCullum to close out his career with his 700th wicket, all alongside his teammates and lifelong friends on the England team. This is a no-holds-barred tell-all of one of the most extraordinary cricket careers of all time. Jimmy will be signing copies in store from 12.30pm - entrance to the signing queue is by ticket only. Please get your tickets soon to avoid disappointment. Please note - there will be no posed photography. We will take photos for you as you are chatting with Jimmy & getting your book signed. Please also note - due to timing restraints, Jimmy won't be signing any memorabilia or other merchandise. Information Source: Waterstones | eventbrite
