Portrait: Christian Handel wurde in der Schneewittchen-Stadt Lohr am Main geboren, die im sagenumwobenen Spessart liegt. Inzwischen lebt er allerdings in Berlin und ist selbst davon überrascht, wie sehr er sich als Landpflanze im Großstadtdschungel wohl fühlt. Er begeistert sich für Stoffe über starke Frauen, märchenhafte Motive und queere Themen. Die von ihm herausgegebene Anthologie »Hinter Dornenhecken und Zauberspiegeln« wurde 2017 mit dem Deutschen Phantastik Preis ausgezeichnet, sein Debütroman »Rosen & Knochen« wurde 2018 für den Literaturpreis SERAPH nominiert. Stefanie Lasthaus wuchs im Ruhrgebiet auf. Nach dem Studium zog es sie nach Australien, England sowie in die Schweiz. Zurück in Deutschland, widmete sie sich zunächst dem Dokumentationsfilm und schließlich ganz dem Schreiben ob für Zeitungen, Zeitschriften, Onlinespiele, dem PR-Bereich oder als Autorin ihrer Romane. Da sie nur noch temporär durch die Welt reisen kann, besucht sie in ihren Büchern Gegenden, die sie faszinieren. Stefanie Lasthaus schreibt auch unter dem Pseudonym Hannah Luis und lebt in Essen.
