Some Dappled Park: A Poetry Writing Workshop Inspired By Philip Larkin's Hull Come join us at Artlink Hull for a unique poetry writing workshop with Philip Larkin Society (PLS) Deputy Chair and PLS podcast Tiny In All That Air presenter Lyn Lockwood and Beverley based award winning poet Chris Sewart. Beginning with a walk around The Avenues and Pearson Park, we will explore the world of Philip Larkin and let his works inspire you. This in-person event will guide you through crafting your own poems, exploring themes and styles reminiscent of Larkin's iconic work. Whether you're a seasoned poet or just starting out, this workshop is a great opportunity to hone your skills and connect with fellow poetry enthusiasts. Don't miss out on this chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of words. Two Free Places Now Available. The Philip Larkin Society has received a donation to allow 2 free places on this workshop to support someone who would otherwise be unable to afford the cost to attend. I'm organising this event to celebrate the release of my new CD - My Kind Of Country. Expect a night filled with great music and good people, with some jokes and stories along the way!
This event will be held at Union Mash-Up - a wonderful, cosy venue down Princes Avenue in Hull.
Meg Noble will be opening the evening with a collection of her own material and covers. I've seen Meg perform numerous times and she has never failed to impress me... You are in for a real treat!
Later on, I'll be playing number of my own tracks - some old favourites and some brand new ones! I can't wait to share these tracks with you, live, in a brilliant venue with a wonderful atmosphere.
