Sufi Festival returns 19-20 July 2025 at the Tramway and The Hidden Gardens, Glasgow, ScotlandSufi Festival invites you on a soul-stirring journey into the mystical and magnificent world of Sufism! This two-day music and art spectacular will immerse you in the ancient devotional practices of the Sufis, from the transcendent, soaring rhythms of Qawwali to the mesmerising Sema ceremony of the Whirling Dervishes. Discover the philosophy and esoteric wisdom of one of the oldest living mystical traditions, through its art, music, poetry, storytelling, and much more! For the third edition of the Sufi Festival at Tramway and The Hidden Gardens, here in Glasgow’s vibrant Southside, we are delighted to host a dedicated Sufi Conference on Saturday 19th of July from 3pm to 9pm, featuring world-renowned Sufi scholars Shaykh al-Ninowy (Madina Institute), Shaykh Babikir (Rumi's Cave), Sukina Noor (Bristol City Poet), and Shaykha Noshin (Guidance Hub), illuminating us with pearls of wisdom from the Sufi Tradition. The conference will include a Q&A with audience participation, and close with a timeless Sema performance by the Istanbul Sema Group. Sunday 20th July from 11am to 11pm, will be a jam-packed 12 hour day full of performances by acclaimed artists including Khayaal Theatre, dub artist Ahmed Ikhlas, storyteller Jumana Moon, henna artist extraordinaire Medina Trevathan, original songstress Medina Tenour Whiteman, and slam poet Sukina Noor (Bristol City Poet), as well as Nasheeds from our co-hosts Khaleel Muhammad and Abdullah Haqani. We’re also excited to offer a range of hands-on art workshops and activities for all ages. The day will culminate with an electrifying show by Qawwali master Hamid Ali Naqeebi , filling Tramway with the uplifting power of this centuries-old Punjabi tradition. We came here on a spontaneous visit one Sunday afternoon in January and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our wee boy loved seeing the &ldquo;old fashioned house&rdquo; and was so well looked after by all the staff, from the cash register to the flat and back out again.

We went round twice (with a shift change between visits!) and the insight into one story of no doubt thousands like it in Glasgow was fantastic. Plus our boy thoroughly enjoyed colouring in his wallie dug. A hidden gem that is well worth the wander through Garnethill.

This is simply a dream castle. When I arrived, it was the April holiday, and there were almost no people on the road. Only the ancient buildings stood in the cold air, solemn and heavy, which made people feel awe.

George Square is located in Glasgow city center and is very conveniently accessible by train or subway. On nice days, you can sunbathe and watch pigeons in the square. It is close to the famous shopping street, where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, shoes and socks. There are also many restaurants and eateries to choose from. 
George Square is a must-see attraction. In addition to admiring the architecture of the square;during different festivals, such as Christmas, the square is built into a Christmas Market, becoming a dynamic and happy atmosphere.
