BWRAG will hold its second of three California Summits in San Diego on September 21-22, 2024. BWRAG’s Surf Responder Summit is a two-day training designed for surfers and ocean enthusiasts of all levels and ability. This course teaches you how to be a Surf Responder: an ocean athlete who not only knows how to mitigate their own personal risk, but can also serve as an asset and help others in an emergency situation. Instead, students will role-play rescue scenarios where they will synthesize learnings from both days into tangible, practical rescue situations that are most common to this region. We got family surf lessons with our kids (13 and 11 years old), and it was the highlight of our trip. We actually planned to splurge and go AGAIN, and that is not like us! We weren&rsquo;t able to go again, due to bad weather on the remaining days of our trip&mdash; still a real disappointment to our 11 year old! 
A note about the cold: we went in March, and I was very concerned about the cold. Though my hands and feet got cold by the end of the lesson, the wet suits really do work! If you are one of those people who is always cold and this is a big worry, don&rsquo;t let it stop you. Truly!

The ticket is very useful. It is booked one evening in advance and received the scan code for entering the park in the early morning. It is worth going.
