Participate in the 2024 RBC Brooklyn Half Plogging Event organized by NYRR before the race. Plogging is a unique activity that involves picking up litter while jogging, originated from the Swedish term "plocka upp" meaning "to pick up" combined with "jogging". On May 17th at 5:30pm, NYRR Coaches and Staff will lead a 2-mile plog at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 2 in New York City. This event introduces new movements to your run and contributes to cleaning the environment, serving as an ideal pre-race shakeout activity. No prior plogging experience is necessary, and individuals of all running or walking speeds are encouraged to participate. NYRR will supply compostable bags and gloves to all registered attendees. Restrooms and bag check services will be available on site. The plogging event will take place rain or shine, so prepare accordingly.
