The 2024 ADAPT Level 1 Coach Certification is coming to Boston, MA (USA) from April 17th to April 19th. This 3-day course, held at The Dojo at Somernova, is designed for parkour coaches of all abilities and backgrounds who are at least 15 years old. The ADAPT Certification is recognized internationally as the industry standard for parkour instruction. Developed by experienced parkour instructors, this certification provides numerous benefits, including access to an international network of peers, improved insurance coverage, and support from larger parkour organizations when working with local government officials. 

During the Level 1 certification course, participants will engage in a variety of exercises, discussions, and coaching situations. Topics covered include the history and origins of parkour, principles of movement, functional strength and conditioning, coaching skills, group management, health and safety, and the spirit of parkour in practice. The course concludes with a written exam and practical assessment.

To complete the ADAPT Level 1 certification, candidates must also complete a minimum of 10 supervised coaching sessions within one year of completing the course. A basic level of proficiency in parkour techniques is required, with 1-2+ years of dedicated training being beneficial. 

The cost of the course is $450 with an early-bird discounted price of $400 available. Scholarships may be available for those in need.
