Peter Stevens is Assistant Master of Music at Westminster Cathedral. Born in Lancashire in 1987, Peter was educated at Chetham’s School of Music, subsequently holding organ scholarships at Manchester Cathedral, St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle and King’s College, Cambridge. In 2013 Peter became Director of the Schola Cantorum of the Edington Festival, following three years as Festival Organist. His teachers have included Thomas Trotter, David Briggs, and Colin Walsh. Peter joined Westminster Cathedral in 2010, taking up his present position the following year. As well as accompanying the Cathedral Choir in their daily services, recordings and concerts, he has given solo recitals across the UK and Europe. Made up of leading chamber musicians, orchestral leaders and principals and soloists from Ireland, the UK and Europe, The Fews Ensemble performs up to eight projects per year across Ireland. The resident ensemble of Newry Mourne and Down and Newry Chamber Music, The Fews are renowned, not only for the quality of their playing, but for their innovative programme led by Artistic Director, Joanne Quigley McParland. The group specialises in cross arts projects, working most notably with actor Ciarán Hinds on several projects including a sell-out, critically acclaimed run, of Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale at Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin, in 2022. Irish tenor, Aaron O’Hare, has recently transitioned from baritone and has sung with leading companies across the UK and Ireland. As an Associate Artist with Welsh National Opera, he recently sang the title role in Don Giovanni on tour, Stárek Jenůfa and March Hare/White Knight in Will Todd’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. In 2021 he sang Schaunard La Bohème for Northern Ireland Opera and new commission Elsewhere, composed by Michael Gallen and produced in Ireland with support from the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris. Aaron completed his BMus (Hons) degree at the University of Ulster and an MMus at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Matthew Best. He won Northern Ireland Opera’s Voice of 2015 competition, during their Festival of Voice, and is also a recipient of the BBC NI and Arts Council NI Young Musician’s Platform Award. Aaron joined Garsington Opera’s Alvarez Young Artist’s programme in 2016 and was a member of the Opera Holland Park Young Artists in 2018. The programme will include modern remixes of classical music and film music, dance music spanning multiple genres and pop classics from the likes of ABBA, David Guetta and many more. Reductio has had a busy twelve months, gaining well over 90,000 followers across all platforms, had interviews with BBC Radio and ITV News, and, most recently, has completed a season as Associate Artist at Fairfield Halls, Croydon. His unique combination of classical and contemporary music on both the organ and his own productions has gained him a fast-growing online following. His interpretations of modern music onto the organ have proven incredibly popular, and he has been relentlessly collating and posting these works online, as well as releasing his own classical compositions and electronic productions. He aims to bring new life and popularity to an instrument that is slowly dying. Reductio studied classics at Homerton College, Cambridge where he also held an organ scholarship.
