Art at Red Dot Ranch presents Sharon DeMattia's thought-provoking exhibition 'Eternal Inquiry', delving into the concept of Death as a Regenerative Force for creatives concerned about consumption. The event will take place on October 21, 2023, at Red Dot Ranch in Pescadero, California. DeMattia invites visitors to engage in the meaningful act of creation, emphasizing the importance of crafting things that truly matter. The centerpiece of the exhibition, 'Eternal Inquiry', originally displayed at Burning Man, will be installed in the rustic woods surrounding the Ranch. Through this artwork, DeMattia explores themes of consumption, interdependent relationships, and the transformative power of Death. Architects, designers, creatives, and makers are encouraged to attend, as the exhibition prompts a crucial dialogue about responsible resource utilization and designing with wisdom, rather than recklessness, for a sustainable future. The event also serves as a fundraiser, with a suggested donation of $45, although higher contributions are welcome to support those unable to donate. After the exhibition, attendees can enjoy a picturesque view of Pescadero and the Ocean while indulging in refreshments generously provided by Dancing Crow Vineyards, including their exquisite wine selection, accompanied by a cheese tray from Harley Farm's dairy and honey from Super's On. It is important to note that this event takes place on a working farm, and participants will be required to sign a waiver. Dress appropriately, wear closed-toe shoes, and anticipate getting a little dirty. Although the event is not fully ADA accessible, parking is available nearby, and shuttle services will be provided to transport visitors to the venue if needed. Please refrain from bringing dogs as a working dog will be present on-site with the goats.
