On Saturday, January 20, 2024, Skate Open Spaces is hosting an exciting public skate session at SportsHouse in Redwood City. This event, called Open Skate! Redwood City, invites skaters of all ages and abilities to enjoy a thrilling night on the roller rink. The four volleyball courts will be transformed into a skating paradise for the evening. Admission to Open Skate! Redwood City is $18 for general admission until Friday, January 19 at 11:59 pm. This includes rental skates and lessons to help you get started. On the day of the event, admission will be $23. For youth ages 12 and under, admission is $15 until Friday, January 19 at 11:59 pm, and $20 on the day of the event. Rental skates are available in a range of sizes, from 10 for little kids to 15 for adults. Please note that only roller skates are available for rent, no blades or inlines. However, if you have your own skates, feel free to bring them along. We love to see your skate setups, and roller blades/inlines are welcome! For those who are new to skating or need a refresher, we offer two beginner lessons to help you get rolling. Lesson #1 takes place from 7:15-7:45, and Lesson #2 is from 7:45-8:15. Additionally, there will be a beginner dance lesson from 8:15-8:45. These lessons are included in the price of admission. During the skate session, Kicks Grill will be open to provide delicious food and refreshing drinks. Please remember to sign a waiver before participating in the event.
