Explore the rich tradition of found object creation with Mia You and Romy Day Winkel at the workshop, "Erase, Deface, Remediate: A found text workshop." Delve into the practice of crafting new texts from existing ones, as we take a deep dive into the history of this tradition and examine texts within the current Onomatopee installation. This interactive session offers participants the opportunity to engage in a moving exercise, workshopping found texts and ultimately transforming them into personalized bookmarks.
Taking place on the 9th of February 2024, from 16.00 - 18.30, this workshop will be followed by a vegetarian dinner. Doors open at 15.30, allowing attendees to stay for the book launch and finissage, featuring a talk and a performance by S*an D. Henry-Smith.
Mia You, the author of the poetry collection "I, Too, Dislike It," as well as several chapbooks, will be leading the workshop. She brings her expertise as a teacher of Anglophone literature at Utrecht University and in the Critical Studies program at the Sandberg Institute.
Romy Day Winkel, a talented writer and artist based in Amsterdam, will also contribute to the workshop. With her experience hosting literary podcasts and her work featured in various publications, she is currently working on her debut novel.
