AMPSURF presents the AMPSURF Surf On Saturday/VetSurf event in Pismo Beach. This event combines two popular programs, Surf on Saturdays (SOS) and VetSurf, to serve Veterans, local disabled individuals, and First Responders. The event takes place on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at the Addie Street Surfer Parking Lot in beautiful Pismo Beach. Participants are encouraged to join this bi-weekly event to experience the camaraderie and connection with like-minded individuals. Whether you're a seasoned surfer or a beginner, everyone is welcome to enjoy the beach, share waves, and relax with coffee and snacks. AmpSurf provides all necessary surfing equipment and wetsuits for new surfers, and Certified Surf Instructors are available to teach anyone who wants to learn. If you have your own gear and can surf independently, we invite you to share your love of surfing with your fellow Veterans, First Responders, and those living with disabilities. Please note that sign-ups for specific ticket types close two days prior to the event, so make sure to secure your spot in advance. As a special incentive, we have 20 surfboards and wetsuits to give away to Veterans who are learning to surf. If you attend the event four times, we will provide you with a brand new surfboard and one of our wetsuits. This is our way of keeping the stoke of surfing going for our Veterans. The Braiding Water: Closing Celebration is an unforgettable beachside event that marks the end of the Braiding Water series. One of the highlights of the program is the showcase of drawings, poems, and oral histories created by students from California Men’s Colony, who are enrolled in Cuesta College ETHN 230 Introduction to Social Justice and Ethnic Studies. These talented individuals will share their unique perspectives on how water has influenced their lives, families, and cultural traditions. The event will take place on the outdoor terrace at the picturesque SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel, conveniently located in Pismo Beach, California.
